Check out this haul!

So after Christmas and my birthday was all said and done, I ended up with $80 in Amazon gift cards. Score!

Needless to say, I went on a bit of a shopping spree the other day and look what showed up on my doorstep:

Is that not a beautiful sight or what? I am and always will be, a physical book person. The only things I read on my iPad are fanfic and the occasional book that's only available electronically. I just like the weight of a book in my hands and love seeing them all displayed on my bookshelves and along the top of my dresser. And I hate that too many bookstores are going out of business because people will only use their Kindle and nothing else. Sometimes, IMO, technology is not always a good thing.

So I will continue to support the physical book, happily curled up in my comfy chair, blanket on my lap and a mug of hot cocoa next to me, flipping pages all day long. :-)

P.S. - thank you all for your thoughts and comments on my friend and the gift card. I certainly received a wide gamut of responses! I think my friend realized what she did wasn't very tactful, as she suddenly surprised me this morning with my favorite scone from Panera and a large glass of milk. :-) I think all is forgiven now.
