Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012!

Let's see, the last time I posted was on December 30th. Decided to take the New Year's holiday off from the computer and just chill out at home with a few books that were calling my name. :-)
Did you guys all party hard on New Year's Eve? I had several friends from work take me out to dinner for my birthday, which was really nice. We had a great time and had a kick ass waitress who scored a big tip from us. Then I was home before the crazies hit the road and spent the rest of the evening with the hubby in front of the TV watching the ball drop in NY while sipping hot cocoa.
The weather was horrible on Sunday - really high winds and freezing temperatures and we got our first real snow of the entire winter. Just an inch, but it's still sticking around because it's still really freaking cold out. So I hibernated on Sunday with a fleece blanket and the two Star Wars books my buddy![[info]](../../img/userinfo.gif?v=88.3)
charityflint gave me for Christmas. We also took the tree down and a few other decorations. The house looks so bare and blah again.
I had Monday off of work for New Years so John and I braved the cold and went to lunch at a new hibachi grill place that opened up last month. Good food and holy cow was there a lot of it. It's a buffet plus the grill and for only $6.99 it's a bargain. John and I need to go back again and eat all of the food we couldn't get to the first time! LOL!
Yesterday I was back at the office (and back on the computer) now that the holidays are over. Have only been there one day since December 23rd, so getting out of bed yesterday morning took every once of willpower I had. But at least it’s a short week and my boss is off on Thursday and Friday, so it won’t be too bad easing back into the routine.
So it's goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012. Last year wasn't horribly bad for me, though it did have it's moments. But overall it was a pretty good year. I didn’t end the year quite where I wanted to be, but my main goal in 2011 was making strides in my photography and I did do that. Didn’t land a paying job yet, but I’m happy with my progress. Now in 2012 I’d better get that paying job! I'm not one to really make resolutions, but it's been too long since I've written anything, either fanfic or original ebook fic, so that's definitely what I'd like to accomplish this year - writing!
What about you guys? Make any resolutions? Anything you're looking forward to this year? For me it's definitely my upcoming trip to Germany in July to visitlausbub0402* and attend her wedding in Ireland. Cannot WAIT. And also going to my very first DragonCon and hanging out with my buddy rivercritter*. :-)
