It's someone's special day!

Just call me the next Karate Kid - part 2

So I'm sensing a theme here - I have a terrible day at work on Wednesday, then head off to self defense class to take out my aggression. :-)

The best part about last night was - there was another woman in class! It was so funny, I was already there when she walked in and she took a look around and saw 14 men and I thought she was going to walk right back out, but she turned and saw me and hurried right over. *g*  Her name was Eileen and we immediately partnered up for the first part of class.

We went over our eye jabs and groin kicks then jumped right into weapons training, which surprised the heck out of me. Last week we were learning how to kick and this week we've got rubber knives in our hands!

I do think the class is moving along too fast and the instructors aren't giving us enough individual attention. The only time one of them came up to me was to tell me I was doing the eye jabs and kicks wrong. I couldn't figure out why he said that until I realized I was the only left-handed person in the class, so in his eyes I was doing it wrong. [shakes head] Not everyone in the world is right-handed!

So anyway, we learned how to distance ourselves from a knife (or other striking weapon) then move in close, immobilizing the arm with the weapon, then knee kicks, elbow swipes or headbutts to take the person down.

It was like a slow-motion choreographed dance but it was still a damn intense workout for an hour and 15 minutes.

I hope we go over that part again next week because none of us mastered that in any way, shape or form. 

Or who knows, maybe next week we'll be flipping people over our shoulders. :-)

Jensen and Jared make TV Guide's "Hot List 2010"

This whole video is great, especially if you're a fan of Glee, but you'll probably find at least one show/actor/actress you like that made the list.

What the hell just happened??

OMG, I just went to answer back a comment and ALL of my userpics have had their keywords deleted and replaced with random numbers like pic#99617992 and ALL of my tags are GONE!

WTF is going on?? Is anyone else experiencing this, too??
