Morning, everyone!

So today I've got a book rec for you - Chimera by Rob Thurman, author of the Cal Leandros series of books, which I also highly recommend.

Chimera is the first book of her new series, and it again focuses on brothers, on family, a theme that Rob does very well. The story follows Stefan, who, when he was 14 years old, witnessed the abduction of his 7 year old brother, Lukas. Lukas was never found, and Stefan has spent the last 10 years looking for him, never giving up. And he thinks he's finally found him.

Only Lukas appears to have been brainwashed and knows nothing of his former life, or Stefan. And he's been trained to be an assassain at only 17 years old, with amazing abilities. He also believes his name is Michael.

It's got plenty of action, from Stefan's rescue of Lukas/Michael to them both on the run from the people who held him captive to the Russian mafia. And then you've got Lukas/Michael, who is experiencing life outside the Institute's walls for the first time. The dialogue between he and Stefan is witty and smart. (And I love that Stefan uses Misha, the Russian nickname of Michael)

This is a fantastic book, plain and simple, about one brother's love for another, about a bond that ends up meaning more than that. And it's got a twist at the end that I never saw coming.

So if you're looking for something to read, pick up Chimera!
