Wow, another weekend gone. Poof! Why can't the work week fly by just as fast? :-)
Nothing too exciting happened over the weekend. On Friday night our neighbor, Chris, came over. She's going to be watching our cats, Mandy and Chloe, while we're in Colorado. She's a cat person herself, so she bonded pretty quickly with our girls and they liked her, too. It's a relief to know someone you trust will be watching your pets. She brought over another bowl of strawberries from her garden, which John turned around and made strawberry Italian ice out of on Saturday, to take back over to her today. :-)
John and I went grocery shopping on Sunday, partly to get him all his little travel size things, and to the hardware store to get a bunch of rubber door stops to put under every closet door in the house so that Mandy can't get in while we're on vacation. It's not child-proofing your house, it's cat-proofing! LOL!
Saturday night, like 90% of fandom, I sat down to watch Misha's movie,
Stonehenge Apocalypse. :-) What killed me is, John sat down
voluntarily to watch it with me! He could've just gone down to the family room and watched some of his shows he had on the DVR. He's totally a closet SPN fan. :-) Anyway, the movie is going on and I was wondering to myself what was on the necklace Misha's character was wearing, when not five minutes later John goes, "What's that around his neck? Is that Dean's amulet?" ROTFL!! Oh my husband, you've gotta love him. *bg*
The movie was...well...a typical cheesy, bad FX SyFy Saturday night film. :-) I was SO distracted by Tori's disappearing-then-reappearing accent and those horrendous short pants that scientist was wearing. LOL! Misha looked great, though. I kept yelling at the screen and telling him to use his angel powers. ;-) And I must've been living under a rock, because I had no idea that Peter Wingfield was in it! Squee!! Methos and Castiel save the world! LOL! All in all it wasn't a fantastic movie, but I just enjoyed seeing Misha in something other than a trenchcoat. [snerk]
I was asleep at 2:30 am when the live streaming broadcast from RisingCon was going on, so I had to go hunt for some reports last night. I still haven't been able to find any video, though, just a couple of pics.
Here are some tidbits...
• Jared - CUT YOUR HAIR. I don't mind long hair on guys, but his just doesn't look good anymore
• Jensen - SHAVE! LOL! Man, what is with actors on hiatus having to grow as much facial hair as they can? I mean, I love Dean's scruff, but we're talking beard here, now.
• Loved finding out the boys know about the upcoming SPN anime, have seen the designs for Sam and Dean and will also be doing the voices for the first couple of episodes. Sweet!
• Jensen will be directing the third episode of season six, which they're actually filming first, which I think is great. It'll give him a lot of time to prep and prepare. Filming starts in just a couple of weeks. Jensen also mentioned that he doesn't think S6 will necessarily be the last. (And according to Misha, the boys are already signed for S7)
• Jensen thinks Ben is not Dean's son, but I've always thought otherwise. He also made a comment about Lisa and S6.
• Okay, so Sam and Dean were
supposed to swap bodies in Swap Meat but shooting was taking too long or something. ARGH!! I want a Sam/Dean body swap in S6 then to make up for it!!
• Jared again mentioned he likes it when Sam and Dean fight. ARGH! ENOUGH WITH THAT, JARED! We're all freaking sick of that. That's not why I want to watch SPN. At least Jensen was the voice of reason saying, "I think they like it when we are more amicable”. YES, THANK YOU!
• Jensen talked about the fight scene in the S5 finale between Sam and Dean, about the prosthetic on his face - having one eye closed for such a long time made him dizzy after he could finally open it, to the point that it was hard for him to walk to his trailer. Poor Jensen!
I haven't had a chance to look for any reports on Jim, Misha or Samantha's panels. Did any of them say anything interesting?
Overall it sounded like a good con, with some good questions asked. Does anyone know how many fans attended? I also liked hearing that Misha autographed a drawing a gal had done, even though the Rising Con staff said no, because it wasn't official merchandise. Good on ya, Misha! :-) And really, they wouldn't allow ANY personal items to be signed? WTF is up with that? Geez, that's even worse than Creation and I didn't think that was possible!
Okay, gotta run. My post about the SPN anime got linked in the newsletter and I suddenly have 40+ comments to answer!
P.S. - thank you,
wilde_moon for the lemur! It's so cute! LOL!
