Guess who's back! )

So yesterday was a really fun day. :-)

I had lunch with the Graphics department where we did our White Elephant gift exchange. It was nice to sit down with all those guys and get caught up with everyone. After we inhaled two pizzas it was time for the gift exchange. As I predicted it got totally goofy as I read Twas the Night Before Christmas and we kept passing the gifts around. *g* There was a lot of laughs as we unwrapped what we ended up with - a tape measure, a company t-shirt and lunchbox, a redneck calendar, funny baseball hats, random books, etc. But everyone agreed I got the best gift - and here I am, wearing it on my head. Yes, folks, a Santa hat with reindeer antlers and the bulbs actually light up and flash! LOL!

I just happened to be wearing that Christmas shirt yesterday, so it was perfect. I was then told I needed to walk around the office with it, which I did because I'm a goofball like that. Everyone really got a kick out of it. :-) But man, that thing was SO heavy and so awkwardly balanced on my head I thought I'd have a permenent kink in my neck. *g*

Then last night at bowling was a BLAST. It was the most fun I'd had in all of the 10 weeks. It was our final night for the league, so we made it a holiday party. Everyone brought in food and we also did a grab bag. I wore that same shirt above, but put on a regular Santa hat. And I think it brought me luck!

Our team was on FIRE last night. My one teammate who rarely breaks 100 had scores of 120 and 133. It was crazy! And I bowled a 153, 145 and a 133. We ended up winning all three games and total pin count. Woot! We haven't done that since the second week! We should know our final places soon, but I think (hope!) we may have ended up in 3rd place. Keep your fingers crossed!

Everyone was in such a good, fun mood last night. The bowling alley was blasting Oldies tunes and people were singing and bopping along to the music. In order to get a gift from the grab bag, you had to get a strike. I swear, half the people got a strike in the very first frame and the gifts were flying off the table. I didn't think I was going to get one! Ended up with a strike in the third frame and claimed a gift bag (our limit was $5.00). I ended up with a nice tin of candy that I shared with the rest of my teammates.

The only sore point of the evening (for just me) was what happened when the person claimed the gift that I brought. It ended up being a gal who's in my own department. I bought five $1.00 scratch off lottery tickets. And what happened? The gal won $100.00 on one of them. I just...I couldn't believe it. She was esctatic and in a matter of moments the whole bowling alley was hearing the story and knew that the tickets came from me. And I've heard the story again about fifty times this morning, because the gal is in my own department. John and I could've used that money SO BAD. When I bought the tickets I figured, hey, someone might win $25.00 or maybe, maybe $50.00. But the $100.00 just killed me. I haven't told John and I'm not going to. He'd kill me if he knew. So yeah, that was kind of a downer and I wish everyone would stop talking about it, but on the whole it was a good day/evening yesterday.

It's a bummer that bowling is over now, but we're going to be starting up again in February, so I'm looking forward to that. :-)
