Many people mentioned in the comments when I posted the ratings for All Hell Breaks Loose part 2, that they hope that the reruns do well during the summer, on both Thursday and Sunday.
I was on vacation when the first two aired, so I've just now had the chance to compile the ratings.
Smallville - Thursday - 2.23 million
Veronica Mars (series finale) - 2.14 million
Everybody Hates Chris - 2.06 million
Veronica Mars - 1.83 million
Supernatural – Thursday - 1.77 million
Girlfriends - 1.75 million
The Game - 1.70 million
Smallville – Sunday - 1.53 million
Supernatural – Sunday - 1.52 million
One Tree Hill - 1.39 million
One Tree Hill - 1.29 million
I did not include the shows that are still being repeated during the summer, but have already been canceled by CW (All of Us and 7th Heaven). I did include Veronica Mars on this week’s list, because those episodes were still first-run episodes. I won't include VM going forward.
And here's how the final rankings turned out for season 2, from highest rated episode to lowest:

Date: 2007-05-30 04:40 pm (UTC)Hey, the sunday viewing of SN was just slightly smaller than the viewing of SV, which is pretty darn good!

Date: 2007-05-31 05:17 pm (UTC)I know! It pains me to no end to see some of the most powerful, emotional episodes at the complete bottom of the list. :-(
And yeah, the retention from SV was nearly 100%! I only wish the ratings had been higher on that Sunday, though, since I'd love to show CW that that's where SPN belongs next year.

Date: 2007-05-30 04:50 pm (UTC)But the ratings of the whole season... So, basically it begun strong and then it went downhill... X(
Though at least it's obvious now that if they switched SV and SPN on Thursday, their ratings would switch too at least according to the Sunday ratings.

Kinda depressing when you look at it that way - the season premiere with the highest ratings and the season finale with the lowest. [sigh] With the low note we ended on, it's going to be a real battle to get numbers anywhere near IMTOD for the third season premiere.

Date: 2007-05-31 12:25 am (UTC)I never used to worry about my other shows like I worry about SPN...but I think Angel and Firefly have taught me to worry constantly.

Date: 2007-05-31 05:45 pm (UTC)I totally agree. It depresses me so much to see those fantastic episodes at the very bottom. And it must hurt Jensen and Jared, too, to see that, knowing both of them gave their all with those episodes.
And it REALLY worries me to see that 3 of the 5 are the final 3 episodes of the season.
That's what scares me the most, too. With the way we ended the season on such a low note, it's going to be a huge battle to get anywhere near the numbers IMTOD pulled last season, for the third season opener. Especially when AHBL wasn't nearly a cliffhanger like Devil's Trap ended with.
but I think Angel and Firefly have taught me to worry constantly.
Man, I've been worrying about my favorite shows since Sentinel! This is definitely nothing new to me, unfortunately. :-) I always get hooked on the "little shows" instead of the mainstream ones.
On a completely unrelated topic, I'm still getting caught up on LJ since being on vacation for so many days and just today read that completely condescending post on one_good_man, on how we need to behave and dress at the play. I am SO ticked off at being talked to like a two-year old, repeatedly on that list. Then I read your own post in your LJ about it, and I agree with you wholeheartedly. I, too, wanted to say, "yes, mother" to that person. This has gone from something fun that I was looking forward to attending to the point where I want to distance myself completely from the group of fans going, for fear that someone will think my shoes are the wrong color and I'll be blacklisted on LJ. [sigh]

Date: 2007-06-01 03:41 am (UTC)*worries for the boys* Man, it's only season 3. I want them around for at LEAST as long as Smallville (I mean, if THAT show can get 7 or 8 years...) ;) and Buffy!
Um...yeah, a lot of stuff happened to tick me off about one_good_man and the whole weekend plans in general. THAT post did it for me, and I've avoided the community ever since. I mean, I pretty much am going to meet a group of friends and I want to eat pancakes and see Jensen. 'Tis all. Like, seriously? The first response was a girl asking her if the outfit she planned to wear "was okay" - I mean, c'mon! I'm afraid if I do or say something wrong half the LJ-ers there are gonna smother me to death, y'know? Were a lot of people agreeing with her post or more angry like me? (I haven't checked b/c I think I pissed her off and am therefore avoidy).
And I still think that as long as we don't have a definite answer, there is NO harm to keep asking about any post-performance appearances. EVERYONE is making a huge deal about it and I'm just like, "y'know, either we will see him or we won't. It's OK."
