The Arizona Republic has an article up today on the ten shows you must sit down and watch during May sweeps, and guess which show is listed first? Yep, Supernatural! Click the link for the entire article or the SPN part is under the cut. FYI - it's a synopsis of next week's episode, if you're looking to avoid any spoilers.
Supernatural
8 p.m. May 3 on Channel 61 (KASW)
What's happening: It's the It's a Wonderful Life version of the show, as the Winchester brothers see how their lives would have been different if they never became demon hunters.
Why it should be good: The chemistry between stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki is consistently strong. Plus, any series that gives Linda Blair a guest shot is OK with us.
On the other hand: With its two dreamy leading men, it often feels like the Tiger Beat version of a John Carpenter film.

Ouch! Tiger Beat?? I don't think so! Jensen and Jared are WAY more than just a pretty face for teeny-boppers to drool over. Hmph.

Date: 2007-04-23 02:14 pm (UTC)(On the other hand, the library gets Teen Vogue, and I keep *looking* for them in there...but so far, no joy.)
Still, it's nice to see them FINALLY getting some good press in non-sci-fi-oriented places. Yay!

Date: 2007-04-23 08:13 pm (UTC)I don't think they allow anyone older than 22 or taller than 5 foot 7 in there, so our boys are immediately disqualified.
LOL! Yes, much too old!
And you will tell us if you find them in Teen Vogue, right?? :-)

Exactly!

Date: 2007-04-23 08:19 pm (UTC)There's honestly no doubt in my mind that we're getting a season 3. Waaay too many good signs point to it. :-)

Date: 2007-04-23 10:39 pm (UTC)But it's not next week's, right? Cause Next week is "Folsum Prison Blues"
I'm starting to think more and more thought that "What Is And What Should Be" will somehow be connected to the finale.

Date: 2007-04-24 01:46 am (UTC)No, sweetie, this week is April 27, with Folsom Prison Blues and the article talks about next week, May 3rd, with What is and What Should. :-)
And yeah, you could very well be right and What Is might be connected to the finale!

Date: 2007-04-24 03:01 am (UTC)Article about SPN in next week's TVGuide!
Date: 2007-04-24 04:31 am (UTC)It sucks to be a hero. Their lives are filled with pain, danger and fear," says Eric Kripke, executive producer of Supernatural, the cult CW show about demon-hunting brothers Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) Winchester.
The saddest line? In what the actors affectionately call this "bizarro" world, Sam is a budding lawyer and Dean is a motorhead living back home in Lawrence, Kansas, with his girlfriend. With no common goal, the brothers barely speak to each other.
The second saddest line: Jeffrey Dean Morgan was not available to reprise his role as their dad, but he'll show up in the season finale. So it looks like it's only going to be 3 eps for JDM this year.
Also at the bottom of the page is a little blurb about the Origins comic books.
There's lots more - someone scanned and posted the entire article here:

It the TVGuide for April 30-May 6, with My Name is Earl stars on the cover.

Date: 2007-04-24 07:28 pm (UTC)Yay! It did happen! This is just TOO awesome for our show.

Oh gosh! Sam and Dean not speaking?? Wow, talk about an alternate reality. That's terrible! Geez, just another thing to ratchet up the angst factor, eh? That's got to hit Dean hard, when he realizes that, you know?
The second saddest line: Jeffrey Dean Morgan was not available to reprise his role as their dad, but he'll show up in the season finale. So it looks like it's only going to be 3 eps for JDM this year.
You know, I heard about this just before I got your post here and put a blurb about it in my LJ this morning. I'm...devastated by this. Especially since both imdb and spoilerfix confirmed his role in it. So much for us speculating how John was going to be in the episode if he's dead. Oh, I'm so mad! This would've been the ultimate episode with John and Mary AND Jess. It's going to lose some impact without John there. I really wanted to see a non-demon hunter father to Sam and Dean. [sigh] Just....crap!
Also at the bottom of the page is a little blurb about the Origins comic books.
Oh, cool! They're even giving the comics a plug!
Boy, I hope my TV Guide is waiting for me when I get home tonight!
