SPN makes "Cheer of the Week" in TV Guide

I haven't gotten my new TV Guide yet, but my friend
sen1995 did, and she told me about a Supernatural fan by the name of Robin who got her letter published in there. Here's the blurb:
Reader's Cheer of the Week to Supernatural for a fantastic second season loaded with incredible writing, acting and directing. This underrated show -- unfortunately fighting for ratings against Grey's Anatomy and CSI -- is scary, sexy, provocative and brilliantly conceived. The superhot Winchester boys are more riveting than bed-hopping doctors or chopped-up corpses, believe me!
Then there's a small pic of the boys from Tall Tales reading the WWN with the caption "Read all about it - Supernatural rocks!"
Whoo-hoo! Indeed we do! This is fantastic publicity for us! Many thanks to TV Guide for picking Robin's letter out of all the rest to highlight!

Short, generally spoilery interview with John Shiban in June SciFi Magazine
Date: 2007-04-17 10:55 pm (UTC)"In the area of standalones, we keep trying to throw some curve balls. Trying to do some different things," says executive producer John Shiban. In upcoming episodes, Sam and Dean end up in prison and run into a genie.
"We have a really fun episode called 'Folsom Prison Blues' [laughs]. And you can imagine the possibilities of that. We bring back the FBI agent Victor Hendricksen from 'Nightshifter.' Because of the situation and the fact that the boys find themselves in a county jail, he gets an opportunity to capture them and complete that. So it's really nice to see him back," says Shiban.
"Then we have one called 'What Is and What Should Never Be.' That's the one that Eric Kripke is going to direct. There is a big twist on the whole genie idea [laughs]."
And then in the two-part season finale, "All Hell Breaks Loose," viewers will get plenty of answers. "It really expands the mythology. It answers a lot of questions. It answers questions about Sam, and remember, the demon said, 'I have plans for you and the children like you.' It's a bold step for a second year, but we decided, 'Hey, we don't want to tease people for years and years.' The mythology is big enough to handle some revelations. So we'll learn some stuff at the end. Of course, we'll open up numerous Pandora's boxes as we do that. But it's really cool, because I feel the whole season has sucessfully built toward this. All the threads you will see that we planned in episodes along the way are now going to pay off. I think the audience is really going to dig it," he says.
"In the world of Supernatural, you're not going to have a happy ending. The war is not going to be over, but we might win this battle or we might lose this battle. It will be a satisfying conclusion to season two, but yet be a nice platform for season three."
They have one of the second season promo pictures above the article (one from the same shoot that my icon picture came from) with the caption "Brothers, Grim: They'll be no happy ending for Sam and Dean [Jaren Padalecki and Jensen Ackles]"
My favorite thing in all this? ". . . a nice platform for season three"!!

Date: 2007-04-18 12:04 pm (UTC)Ok, I'm finding it strange that FPB is being called "fun". Geez, I was thinking it was going to be kind of serious, what with them in prision and Hendriksen back and them trying to escape. Huh. Well, now I'm really interested in how this is all going to play out.
but we decided, 'Hey, we don't want to tease people for years and years.'
Yes, thank you!! I've had enough of that with X-Files and now Lost. I got fed up with XF around season 6 and I'm already fed up with Lost! There's nothing wrong with giving answers and moving on to another over reaching season plot arc, you know? It keeps things fresh, and I'm glad Eric realizes this.

OMG, I cannot wait for the season finale!!

I know! I was very excited to read that. We're a lock for season 3, I just know it. Too many good signs point toward it, :-)

But I want some basketball pics, damn it!

Date: 2007-04-18 01:45 am (UTC)YES! That was the first thing I thought when I saw these seven, then totally forgot to mention it in my post. D'oh! Geez, I want that basketball scene to be good. :-)

Date: 2007-04-18 11:55 am (UTC)YES! I want to see legs! Lots and lots (and in Jared's case - lots and lots more) of bare legs! We've seen them barechested - now how 'bout this, eh, Eric? ;-)
