Upcoming SPN guest stars

So I was perusing imdb.com tonight and found out who's going to be in the last several episodes this season...
First, I was THRILLED to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan now listed as appearing in all THREE of the final episodes this season! Yep, he's going to be in What Is and What Should Never Be, along with both parts of All Hell Breaks Loose. Whoo-hoo! And with this latest episode, Kripke has now made good on his promise at the beginning of the season that John would be in four episodes. You had me worried there, Eric! I should never have doubted you. :-)
So wow, What Is and What Should is going to be a TOTAL angst-fest with Mom, Jess and now Dad in there. This is just gonna tear Dean apart, I know it.
Someone else who is going to be in both parts of the season finale is Jim Beaver. Yay! Bobby's back again! I've really grown to like him.
As for the 'eh' person - it's Samantha Ferris. She's scheduled to be in the second part of the season finale. I'm just hoping that this signifies that we're going to maybe find out who the mole is inside the Roadhouse and be done with that.
Someone who is NOT listed as being in any of the final episodes is Alona Tal. Yeah, you see me shedding a tear over that one, right? *eg*
Anyway, with all of the guests and stuff and the synopsis I've read up until episode 20 - these last episodes sound like they're gonna rock our socks. :-)

Date: 2007-04-17 02:40 am (UTC)Barb, this is wonderful news! I am so looking forward to all of the remaining episodes, but especially the last 3. And Dean - bless his heart, they are going to put him through the wringer, aren't they? Am I sick to be so looking forward to seeing his pain? And Bobby too? I am so thrilled to hear that.
And there's a great thing in next week's TVGuide. An SPN fan by the name of Robin got her letter posted in the Cheers and Jeers section as the Reader's Cheer of the Week:
Reader's Cheer of the Week to Supernatural for a fantastic second season loaded with incredible writing, acting and directing. This underrated show -- unfortunately fighting for ratings against Grey's Anatomy and CSI -- is scary, sexy, provocative and brilliantly conceived. The superhot Winchester boys are more riveting than bed-hopping doctors or chopped-up corpses, believe me!
And they have a small picture of the boys from TT reading the WWN with the caption "Read all about it - Supernatural rocks!"
So the fans have definitely been coming through for SPN recently - first EW and now TVG!
Lastly, SPN also has a blurb on the Thursday night highlights page:
Eerie reports about a small-town prison lead the boys to botch a robbery in hopes of winding up behind the joint's allegedly haunted bars. Unfortunately, equally eerie details of their connectioins to past crimes could result in a much stiffer sentence than they had anticipated.
Again, I can't wait to see these episodes!
Thanks, Barb!

Date: 2007-04-17 12:34 pm (UTC)Well then we're both sick! LOL! Eric said we were going to have a Dean-arc storyline at the end of the season and this seems to be kicking it off. Gosh, what a horrible choice Dean's going to have to make. Of course we all know what he'll pick but it won't make it any less painful to watch him struggle with it. I wonder if he'll tell Sammy what he saw, if he even remembers any of it, like with the Reaper in IMTOD.

Oh, this is awesome! Like you said, first EW and now TV Guide! Yay for us!
Hey, do you subscribe to the TV Guide or pick it up in the store? I subscribe, but it's constantly late and I'm always the last to know about things like this.

So they purposely botch up the robbery to get caught? Boy, that's pretty stupid on their parts, honestly. Did they NOT think, Dean espeically, that they'd find out who they were?? Geez, boys, that was a pretty dangerous risk to take - good thing you'll have some help on the inside. :-)

Date: 2007-04-19 04:14 am (UTC)Well, I'm glad to know that I am not the only sick person around here! And yes, I am also wondering if he will tell Sam what he saw. I've always wondered if Sam ever told Dean what happened in IMTOD - about the Quija board and that he was able to talk to Dean even though he was in a coma, that Dean told him that he was being chased by a reaper, etc.

Yes, I have a subscription. 98% of the time it is in my mailbox when I get home on Monday nights - it occasionally comes later and once in a while it actually arrives on Saturday.

Date: 2007-04-20 02:34 am (UTC)Me, too. It's like once Dean told Sam he didn't remember anything, Sam just kinda dropped the whole thing.

Man, you've got great service, then! Our mail delivery sucks here. I'm lucky if it shows up by Wednesday. :-(

Date: 2007-04-17 03:14 am (UTC)The thing is I don't hate Ellen, I just think she was used wrong and now she just isn't necessary. I actually think it could have been good for Dean in particular to have a friend, who was older with life experience. I mean yes they've got Bobby for that too but I don't think it would necessarily be a bad thing for there to be another and to have it be a woman because I actually like Dean's interaction with women not just when he's in horndog mode(also known as the only man in the world who somehow made horndog utterly adorable:) but just in general. I'm not against female characters in general and I like it when shows can have men and women be friends or working acquaintances. I also like it when older people learn to respect Dean for who he is without the show trying to turn him into something or someone else. I like when we as an audience are allowed to see that part of Dean which is really older than his years because of the experiences of his life and it's interacting with characters like that where we get to see it(like with late lamented Sarge from Croatoan and such).
Problem is they used Ellen in a stupid storyline(Roadhouse and Jo's Ma) as a mother figure which just tends get used by slapping Dean down like a kid and calling him "boy". Dean doesn't need that. He needs to be treated like and respected as an adult, which can yes include disagreeing and arguing, but not belittling.

Date: 2007-04-17 03:21 am (UTC)I don't check imdb as often as I should - did they not list her appearance on there before the episode aired?

And that is the exact problem I have with Ellen. I was fine with her until she browbeat Sam into telling her that he has visions and basically told Dean to sit there and shut up. The hell with you lady! You're no one!
So yeah, I lost respect for Ellen at that point. Which is a shame, because I have nothing against female characters either and there've been good ones on SPN. Just not any that come from the Roadhouse.

Date: 2007-04-19 12:55 am (UTC)Also as I see it reading someone's mind and then sharing their thoughts solely in order to embarrass them, especially when one is supposedly a professional, is pretty unethical. It was one thing to be a bit sassy with the "don't put your feet on my coffee table" thing but when she started smacking him in the head, calling him stupid when honestly I didn't find anything he did to be wrong, I did not think he was being rude to Ginny. At all. Missouri could have gotten her point across without devaluing Dean's intelligence in front of a woman who will soon be asked to put her and her kids lives in his hands.
And then at the end Sam offers to pay for the damage(when they just saved Ginny and her kids lives at the risk of their own for free mind you) and Dean, in his own head gets a little annoyed at Sam's unilateral decision, at a time Dean was the only one earning any money(and hustling pool and gambling is still work and was still the main of what they were living off of on a day to day basis besides the credit cards(which it seems to me are mainly used for motels and such), Missouri treats Dean like a naughty 5 year old for something he never even said outloud, nor was going to. Dean deserved better than that. I just found it incredibly rude and disrespectful towards Dean.
No I just didn't like that, not one bit.
That said, I was always willing to have Missouri back, so long as they wrote her as a little less fawning all over Sam and little less treating Dean like a rock stuck in her shoe. I liked the idea of the character alot and I thought Loretta Devine could easily play her a little softer next appearance without it coming across like a total retcon or re-write of the character.

Date: 2007-04-17 03:46 am (UTC)I honestly have no feelings for Samantha Ferris or her character, but the whole idea that she's going to be in one part of the season finale but not the other just screams 'SHOCKER'. I'm hoping for maybe a flashback or something that explains the Sammy/Demon connection, though I already have my theories.
The coming episode with Adrianne Palicki concerns me. It's the djinn episode and I have this fear that it's going to turn into a 'Angst, Look What I Lost' episode that just makes your heart hurt and you end up feeling uncomfortable. The only way I think I won't feel a general sense of 'eh' for this would be if we have Dean missing HIS Sammy and realising he's happier where he is.
And now onto Alona Tal. I'm glad that they wrote her character off from where they originally wanted her to go. Sure, Alona gets the semi-evil you love to hate her parts in her shows, but the way they pumped her up and just rammed her down our throats is the reason I don't think her or her character made a go of it. The only way characters have been accepted into the 'love base' that is Supernatural Fandom, is when they do the gradual introduction and make it natural (lol, natural... supernatural... get it, ha.).
Okay, sorry. I'm done rambling.

Yeah, it's pretty much up in the air how this one's gonna go down, if it'll be just an angst-fest or if it turns out like you said. I love the anticipation and all the speculation!
I totally agree with you about Alona and how they introduced Jo. They went about it the completely wrong way and that's why so many of us rebelled against her. But look at all the female characters that we have liked. So it can be done!

Date: 2007-04-18 12:59 am (UTC)God, I LOVE Bobby Singer! It'll be great to see John and Bobby together (at least I hope we will!)
May is gonna ROCK!

Date: 2007-04-18 01:49 am (UTC)Are you TRYING to make me CRY?!
Date: 2007-04-18 03:23 am (UTC)Besides, it's Bobby Singer, isn't it bad luck to kill off a character named after your producer? I'm sure it is. You gotta be careful with that sympathetic magic, it'll bite you in the ass every time!
So, they will NOT kill off BOBBY!

LOL! I didn't even think about that! Ok, never mind my wild speculation. Bobby's safe. :-)

Other than that, yay guest stars!

I know! I don't know why that horrible thought crossed my mind, totally out of the blue. But I'm banishing it, right now. :-)

Date: 2007-04-20 02:12 am (UTC)So it's not just me! It was just like whamo! "I hope they don't kill him off". I then wanted to smack myself in the head for even thinking it. :-)
Say it with me now, "Bobby will be fine, Bobby will be fine..."

Date: 2007-04-18 09:42 pm (UTC)season finale is Jim Beaver.
Whoo! Dude, Bobby is so much love. I can't wait to see what he does (cuz we all know how wicked he was in last season's final eps)

Date: 2007-04-19 06:07 pm (UTC)*headdesk* Now I know what I was going to ask you in my earlier comment - do you know where I can poke around to find some spoilers for the season finale? I have a J2 fic planned for a birthday present (as my girl doesn't mind spoilery bits), and I need a few details so I can finish it up.
(no subject)
Date: 2007-04-20 02:08 am (UTC)You know, normally I could point you toward any spoilers right here in my own LJ, but I made a promise to myself to not find out anything about the finale this year. :-)
But I would suggest going to the spnnewsletter community and looking at past entries. There have been several labeled "spoilers" for the finale over the past several weeks.
Good luck with the fic!

Date: 2007-04-20 06:08 pm (UTC)And the thing is, I usually don't read up on anything for future eps, except the little episode descriptions in TV Guide or whatever. But since around Tall Tales or so, I've been exactly the opposite.
I'll head over there and see what I can find.
Thanks! :)

Date: 2007-04-21 09:36 pm (UTC)And I am! LOL! But I just decided for once that I'd let myself be completely suprised by the two part finale, since I just know it's gonna be huge.
I hope you found some things over there!

Date: 2007-04-21 10:46 pm (UTC)just know it's gonna be huge.
Eee. I know.
Lol, & I don't really want to spoil *all* of it for myself, or her, either. But there is a scene that I want the description of, or at least a general idea of where the characters will be - so I can use as a comparison to a S1 scene. Hmmm, I think I'm going to do a bribery post over at my journal and see what happens.
The newsletter is awesome. I did find some links over there that are really helpful :)
