Date: 2007-03-01 11:50 am (UTC)a) the fact that it doesn't come out until September means that it's a way to promote the 3rd season that would begin in September and
b) that TPTB will take a look at how many people will pre-order this item. I already did. The first time I pre-ordered anything! *feels so proud* It's already on the 649th place in books on Amazon O.O

Saw this at tvguide.com tonight. One of their columnists, Stephen Battaglio, has an article entitled TV Death Watch - A look at shows facing cancellation before the fall. He then goes on to speak about each network and the shows he believes are in danger of cancellation. Noticeable in its absence from the paragraph about the CW's endangered shows is SPN:
CW
It's goodbye to the Gilmore Girls unless stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel decide to sign on for another season. Veronica Mars will likely solve her final case this spring. Monday sitcoms All of Us and The Game are vulnerable. If 7th Heaven doesn't get canceled after this season, you'll know that the CW's new-show development is lousy.
The full article can be found here: http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/The-Biz/default.aspx
Also, if you haven't seen it, the information is up for college students who want to participate in the SPN promo contest:
Welcome to PROMAX/BDA’s First Collegiate Challenge.
Would you like to produce a trailer for a network television program?
Well now you can. Be a part of PROMAX/BDA’s First Collegiate Challenge! Together with The CW and BLiNK, PROMAX is searching for college students with the drive and talent to catch the eye of electronic media marketing professionals from around the world.
The challenge is a creative contest. The goal is to create a compelling video that creates a buzz for the popular CW show, Supernatural. You’ll be provided with footage from the show and given the opportunity to dazzle us with your creative vision.
Trailers will be judged on their ability to:
1. Capture viewers’ attention
2. Convey the network’s message about the show
3. Present the material in an original and compelling manner
Return the info below and we’ll send you everything you need to download the materials, put together your entry and compete for the coveted prize.
All those completing a valid entry are invited to attend the June PROMAX conference in New York City where you could meet industry leaders from every corner of the globe, semi-finalists work will be featured in a conference session and the winner will be offered an internship with The CW.
So, the renewal evidence appears to be mounting . . . .

Date: 2007-03-05 03:21 am (UTC)Ok, you scared me to death when I read this sentence, totally convinced that I was about to see SPN's name on the list. Don't do that to me! LOL!
I am so thrilled NOT to see SPN on the list. Though I doubt GG will be cancelled. And they brought back 7th Heaven for only one season to then get rid of it? Hmmm, not sure about that one, either. But VM and the sitcoms? Yeah, I agree with him.

See, now why would you have a contest like this to "create a buzz" if you're not going to renew it? And call it "popular" as well?
So, the renewal evidence appears to be mounting . .
Sure does! I'm feeling good!
