More sides up for episode 19

Hey all, there is another set of sides for episode 19 up now.
Ok, now we find out that Mara is a public defender, in charge of Sam and Dean's case. It looks like Henriksen may have caught up to them, and that's why they end up in prison. But I don't know, I get this weird vibe from the pages that they wanted to be caught and sent to this particular prison. Which would make sense if they knew about the ghost of the inmate murdering people, but deliberately wanting to get sent to jail?? Seems a bit extreme for a job, even for the Winchesters, seeing as they're wanted men. I can't wait to find out how this all goes down.
Sam and Dean go through the entire incarceration process - fingerprints, jumpsuits, photos and when Sam sees a particularly scary dude, Dean tells him "I promise I won't trade you for cigarettes." LOL!
Mara seems really cool and on top of things. She brings up stuff from The Usual Suspects, telling Henriksen that Linda Blair's character told her that Sam and Dean saved her life and helped her catch a killer, plus the info about the bank teller seeing her own body-double. Scary thing is, though, she tells Sam that he and Dean are looking at life sentences.
Then Sam gets her to do some research for them on a nurse who died back in the 70's who they think is involved with the supernatural goings-on in the prison.
The end pages of the sides is Sam and Dean playing one-on-one basketball in the prison yard, and for some reason I can't wait to see that. We never get to see them doing stuff like that. I know it's under strange circumstances, but still, playing ball is the kinda thing brothers do, you know?
So the pages end with Sam and Dean apparently waiting for Mara (to spring them?) but with Sam saying "We can't win them all" and Dean replying "Why not??"
I'm really, really interested in seeing how this episode starts and how it's all going to end. If Mara gets them freed, that should be the end of the Henriksen story line, and I find it kinda strange to have just a two-episode arc with that character.
We'll have to wait and see!

Date: 2007-02-14 05:45 am (UTC)I wonder if the writers realized that they have sort of written themselves into a corner with having Sam and Dean wanted by the Feds? It would cause them to cut their visibility WAY down. So theye decided to do something to alleviate that. This will somehow get rid of their records, so ALL of law enforcement won't be looking for them. But probably Henrikson will still want to nail them.

Check out the new interview with Eric that I posted this morning. He talks about this very thing!

Date: 2007-02-14 06:50 am (UTC)Thank goodness they have someone sticking up for them. I think it would be pretty easy to build a good case to show that the boys are only doing good. Think of all the people they have helped who know that something . . . supernatural was going on - Becky from Skin, Charlie from Bloody Mary, Haley and her brothers from Wendigo, Jerry from Phantom Traveler, Sherrie from Night Shifter, Andrea from Dead in the Water, Jenny from Home, Lori from Hookman, Monica from Salvation, Evan from Crossroad Blues, Susan from Playthings, etc., etc. All of these people know that Dean and Sam either saved their lives or their children's lives (or the lives of a planeload of people). Even, as you mention, Diana, who is a detective, in Usual Suspects. Correct me if I am wrong, but I've never heard Sam and Dean tell people not to talk about what they did. And there was a shapeshifter body and lots of shapeshifter goo left in the bank. Not sure this stuff would stand up in court, but it sure would be interesting.
This episode (again!) sounds wonderful. I'm really looking forward to this one. And maybe Henriksen could show up in one of the other episodes between now and that one? What do we have left - Tall Tales, Roadkill, Heart, Hollywood Babylon - is that all of them? None of them appear to be a likely candidate, but the way Kripke & Co. interweave stuff, I suppose anything is possible.
And if you haven't heard, we have something else to look forward to - Jensen is going to be a guest on The Jimmy Kimmel Show on March 14. Finally some promotion! If anyone reading this lives near LA, there are apparently still tickets left for the show. Go here: http://www.1iota.com/show.aspx?sid=1
Thanks again for the spoilers, Barb!

Date: 2007-02-15 02:44 pm (UTC)Yes! I'm thrilled that Mara is written as a really sharp woman who immediately thinks something's up with the way Henriksen is pursuing them and believes the boys are innocent.
I think it would be pretty easy to build a good case to show that the boys are only doing good.
And that's exactly what she's doing, which is awesome! Again with the continuity thing, bring up past people and events. Love ya for that, Eric!
Correct me if I am wrong, but I've never heard Sam and Dean tell people not to talk about what they did.
No, you're right. They've never told anyone to keep quiet about what they do for them. Hey, it's word of mouth advertising for them!

I don't think we'll see Henriksen before Prison Blues and according to Eric's new interview that I posted this morning, we won't see him again after Prison until next season. (I love that he keeps talking about S3, like it's a done deal.)

Yes, I saw that! Geez, please let it be better than when he was on Megan Mullaley!
