It was nearly 70 degrees here both Saturday and Sunday. In Chicago. In February. What the…?

Needless to say, people were outside in droves. Especially walking around the lake behind my house. I was among them. We were all like mole-people, emerging from the cold and dark into the light, wondering what that bright glowing sphere was in the sky. :-)

I enjoyed sitting in front of the open living room window on Saturday, lounging on my chaise, reading and watching TV. Bean was in her glory, perched on the windowsill, breathing in the fresh air and watching the birds and squirrels. :-)

Had a bunch of errands to run on Sunday and I didn’t even mind since it meant being out in the gorgeous weather. I was tempted to put the top down on the Mustang!

Made a stop at my comic book store to pick up my monthly stash and then went grocery shopping. Even though Paczki Day isn’t until February 28th I was happy to see the delicious pastries already out at the store and grabbed the variety box. Yum! On my way out of the store, the Girl Scouts were set up selling cookies. I vividly remember doing that myself for years on end, but we never had such good weather! Needless to say, I picked up a box, feeling nostalgic.

Cleaned the house and did the laundry, counting the days until our new Dyson vacuum arrives. It’s a surprise for John, a late Valentine’s gift that should be here tomorrow.

AT&T had all of the movie channels open over the weekend so I recorded MI-5 (a follow up movie to the UK TV series I used to watch), the new Tarzan one and 13 Hours (more for military research purposes than anything for my new book).

The only crappy part of the weekend was finding out I lost the PRG’s Reviewer’s Choice Awards. I want to thank all of you for voting for me, but it was a popularity contest I was destined to fail, up against several big-name authors. Still, it was a blow and I can’t help feeling that my writing sucks. It’s going to be hard to get back in the groove again this week after writing up a storm for the last two. [sigh]

And that was about it for me. How was YOUR weekend?

Legend of Tarzan wasn't very good, in my opinion. It was trying to be both an origin story (via flashback scenes) and a sequel of that story and it just didn't work. I wish they'd done strictly an origin story. It probably would've been a better movie.

Thanks for the feedback on Tarzan! I admit I’m wanting to watch it more for the eye candy of Alexander Skarsgard than anything. :-) I’ll be sure to post what I thought of it!

Aww, thanks, sweetheart, I appreciate that. I’m kind of at a low point right now. Yes, dancing men is always a good point to start! :-)

Wow, your weather sounds glorious! How lovely!
We had a milder day today. It felt like spring.
Friday night I went to the theater with a friend to see a dance performance of The Red Shoes, which was a 1948 movie about a young woman torn between the love of her boyfriend and her love of dance. The sets, costumes and dancing was amazing. Was such a delight.
I watched more of Lost over Saturday and Sunday. Went for coffee with my mother on Saturday, that was nice.

Unfortunately our lovely weather isn’t going to last much longer. We’re going to be back down in the deep freeze come Saturday. Rats! Glad you’re having some milder days, too. Is it spring yet??

Oh, The Red Shoes sounds great! I absolutely love going to the theater, too. Happy you enjoyed the performance!

You’re making me want to pull out my DVDs of Lost each time you mention it. :-) And I keep thinking of you when I hear about TVD ending in just a few more episodes. I hope the finale is satisfying for you.

My weather will be turning cold at the weekend and we already have strong winds. :(
I'm finding Lost really interesting, it's a really good watch. Sawyer is my favorite at the moment.
I can't believe there are only three episode of The Vampire Diaries left. And I'm nervous on how it will end. I know it's had a good run but I still feel sad it's ending.

Do I need to fly to Chicago and knock you upside the head? You're a great writer. YOu said it, it's a contest of who is the most popular. Maybe she's been around for years. Don't take it to heart. Keep that chin up, bake something chocolate for me and remember exactly who you are. You're a writer. You're a great writer. Now fucking write. (Was this a good motivation for you?)

We had chilly 62 degree weather on Saturday that threw us all into shock. We had the cold and damp and of course whined about it to everyone that would listen to us. LOL Arizonan's are a riot. We meet up at the grocery store and whine in every aisle we go into. :) But on Monday, it was back to 80 again. I have no idea why the chilly weather had hit. I'm so glad you had a warm weekend. Woot.

62! LOL! We’d be running around in shorts and bare feet. :-) You Arizonian’s are so delicate. ;-)

The weather here was fantastic The last few days. Supposed to change tomorrow, but was good while it lasted. made one want to go and enjoy nature. I went and picked up the latest Elfquest comic today. It is the only one I read and this is issue #18. So glad Wendi and Richard are doing them again.
Know about cleaning. Worked to get the garage done and took a lot of recyclables in. There were about 16 old boxes of tiles the builder had left here and good grief, were they heavy. Plus old paint, grout, wood and a vacuum cleaner. It was a workout.
Hope the weather there continues to be good for you.

Yep, same here with our weather - 70 degrees the last several days and by Saturday we’re getting snow. [sigh]

I got the new issue of ElfQuest over the weekend! I’m so glad there’s a new series. I wonder what prompted Wendi and Richard to start up again. I’ve always loved the bromance between Cutter and Skywise.

Wow, it certainly does sound like a workout with your garage! I like how the builder just left everything for you to deal with. Seriously? Bet your garage looks nice now, though!
