Had a laid back, relaxing weekend, which was nice. I’ve kind of been running myself ragged (and will be again starting this Friday) so I just wanted to chill.

On Saturday, John and I had breakfast out then a few hours later went to the French Market. We hadn’t been there in several weeks so it was nice to go back. We picked up some delicious baked goods and then I was thrilled to see the magnetic bracelet lady was back. I bought one from her well over a year ago and I’ve worn it so much the paint was starting to come off the beads. I’ve looked for her ever since and she’s never been back. Then suddenly there she was! I have a tiny wrist and she will custom make them for you right there, which I love. I bought three from her this time AND got her business card. :-) Here’s a photo of them. Aren’t they pretty?

Afterwards we went to Wok N’ Fire for lunch. My gorgeous waiter wasn’t there. Bummer! LOL! But once again we had a fabulous meal, trying different things from our first visit.

While it had been cloudy and rainy on Saturday, the weather on Sunday was gorgeous. I went for a walk around the lake then sat outside to finish reading a book.

After lunch John and I went to the library. I’ve lived here for three years and hadn’t gotten around to getting a card yet. But there are books I’d like to check out for more military research for my novels so it was the perfect time. I was very impressed by the app they have! Libraries are so high-tech nowadays. :-)

And that was about it. Ended my night watching Captain America: Winter Soldier since it’s now being shown on the FX channel constantly. :-)

How was YOUR weekend?

Those bracelets are beautiful!
I spent most of the weekend feeling sick and I'm still getting over a cold. Feeling a bit better today.

Aren’t those bracelets pretty? Most of hers are black with one accent color and she even said to me, “Oh, you got all of my colorful ones!”

Aww, I’m so sorry you’ve been under the weather. That’s no fun! I hope you’re feeling better now!

Love the bracelets! Such pretty colors.

I took a roadtrip on Saturday. Met up, one final time, with my friend who lives in Rockford (we meet in Champaign) before she moves back home to Florida. We hung out for a few hours and had lunch, it was fun.

Sunday was spent preparing things for my United Way event I had on Monday. It was a tiring weekend and I could use another.

Funny you mention the colors of the bracelets. Most of hers are black with one accent color and she even said to me, “Oh, you got all of my colorful ones!”

Glad you were able to meet up with your friend. I’m sorry she’s moving away, but I hope you can go down to Florida for a nice vacation to see her. :-)

Glad your weekend was chill. Nice that you found your bracelet lady.
I just got back from a five day break in Vegas. Since I had to cancel my big vacation in July, wanted to do something. Had a great time. One of the best meals I have had. It was at La Circ in the Bellagio. (I allow myself one gourmet meal per vacation. And this one was fantastic. A five course degustation menu. Beautiful presentations, wonderful, attentive service and great flavors. I would definitely recommend it. Of course the next three days, breakfasts was at Denny's. Did go see Wanda Sykes at Treasure Island. She is so funny and it was a very enjoyable show. So now back at home eating soup and having great memories.

Vegas! Awesome! Glad you were able to take a trip. :-) I’ve only been there once, for Christmas about 10 years ago, but the hubby and I had a great time. Oooh, your meal sounds amazing! Good for you for treating yourself. :-)
