And that was my experience at the WPA this year! I do have to say that I liked the facility in Appleton last year more than the facility in Green Bay this year. It was just so much easier to navigate. But the classes themselves and the instructors were just as top notch as last year’s.

Even though technically the event is supposed to be geared toward writers, if you’re at all interested in law enforcement then you’d really enjoy the WPA.

I’m sad that I won’t be able to go next year as I’ll be on my Alaskan cruise in August, so I’m definitely glad I was able to go this year!

Wow, did you ever look like you were having a great time at the Academy. I had never heard of them before. Getting to try all those skills that the police and first responders have to learn must have been very rewarding. Bet you were ready to catch up on your sleep when you got home though. They sure did keep you busy. And getting to do that pit maneuver and nailing it on the first try, bet your were bursting with pride. You go girl. Glad you had such a great time.

The Writer’s Police Academy was such a blast. I love the opportunity to do as many hands-on things I can. Not only is it fun and exciting, but makes my writing more realistic now that I’ve experienced it for myself.

LOL - I face-planted into bed when I got home that night and slept for 12 hours straight!

Oh gosh, doing that PIT maneuver successfully was the biggest thrill! It’s something I’ll not soon forget. :-)
