Good gosh, how is it Monday already?? Ugh.

So I had one good day and one bad day over the weekend. Saturday was an exercise in frustration. I woke up with a low grade headache with made me grumpy right off the bat. My landlord needed some paperwork signed so we had to go to her real estate office. It was a bright, sunny day so of course that meant that everyone was out. Traffic was a freaking nightmare. We get to her office to find her not there but an envelope with the paperwork. All of which she could've filled in herself! We didn't need to write down our own names and our address! Argh! John wanted to go to Wendy's for lunch so I battled the traffic - only to find that within the last two days, they had started tearing the Wendy's down! It's gone! Now I'm really pissed. We were supposed to go grocery shopping but when we got to Jewel it was a nightmare with everyone just then shopping for their Easter dinner. Seriously?? We turned around and left without shopping and ended up at stupid Burger King for lunch since it's in the same parking lot. Food was gross. I was so angry by the time I got home, with my head pounding, I went and took a nap. I felt much better when I woke up so I decided to christen our new stove/oven that we finally got on Thursday by making chocolate chip cookies. Yum! Then I sat down and read the stack of comic books that had been piling up. I also got several emails from bloggers asking for my new ebook to review. So at least the day ended on a high note!

On Sunday, for Easter, John and I didn't think we'd have our new oven in time, so we made reservations for brunch. Turned out to be a great idea! It was a restaurant we'd never been to and the food turned out to be fantastic. There wasn't one thing we had that we didn't like. And the place was packed! You couldn't even find a place to park in the lot. We will definitely go back for dinner there sometime.

John surprised me with an Easter basket filled with Pez and Peeps. Needless to say, I was on a sugar high for the rest of the day. :-)

After we got home from brunch we just relaxed, did some laundry, watched some TV (Miss Fisher and Doctor Blake marathon on PBS!) and I finished reading the Veronica Mars book.

Had to take my Easter decorations down in my cubicle this morning so now it's all boring again. :-)

How was YOUR weekend?

Oh no - Burger King! I hate Burger King.
Glad you finally have a fully working oven. Choc chip cookies sound like the best way to test it out!
Your Easter basket looks so cute!
I didn't feel that well this weekend so stayed in. I had a bit of a David Duchovny weekend. I watched old X-Files episodes, Californication, Playing God and later today I will watch the first episode of Aquarius.
And it's back to work tomorrow.

I hadn't eaten at Burger King in more than a year and I was reminded why on Saturday! LOL!

I'm so glad we have an oven, too. Trying to eat out of a microwave for dinner for nearly three weeks was not fun!

What do you think of Californication? That's the one show that David has done that I've never watched.

I really enjoyed Aquarius, though I wish they'd spent more time with David's character and his partner instead of with Manson. I'm hoping that changes some in season two.

I do like Californication. It feels like another world, lol.
David's character seems to sleep with nearly very female character he comes into contact with though. And sometimes I find that a bit much but overall I thought it was a good show.
I haven't seen all the episodes. I have definitely seen seasons 1 and 2. And I watched a couple of episodes from season 4 at the weekend.
I'm glad you enjoyed Aquarius. I haven't watched the first episode yet but will do soon.

Yeah, see, that’s the impression I got from David’s character when Californication first came on and he seemed like such a awful person that it made me not watch!

I’m wondering when the second season of Aquarius is going to air. I thought it was supposed to have been back in the fall, but I guess they’re holding off to show it during the summer. You’ll have to let me know what you think!

I will let you know what I think of Aquarius. :)

I just started the first season of Miss Fisher--I really, really like it! I'd love to read the books, but they're crazy expensive. So I need to check the library and see if they're available there.

John and I have seen all three seasons and loved them all, so even when the reruns pop up we'll watch them. We keep hoping for a season four, but it's looking less and less likely the longer it takes. I guess with Essie Davis on Game of Thrones and now living in the UK instead of Australia another season might be difficult. Such a shame, as it's such a fabulous show with a really strong female character.

Ooh, I've never read the books! I need to check my library, too!

My Aunt Betty, a voracious reader, recommended the books to me ages ago but I never got around to checking them out. That was before the show or at least before the show was available to us here.

I really love that Phryne is such a strong, take no shit kind of lady but is still feminine.

Yes, me, too! She reminds me a lot of Agent Carter. There are so very few female characters like them on TV and that’s such a shame. Love that Phryne carries a gold plated pistol and is always dressed to the nines but it doesn’t stop her from chasing after a criminal. :-)

My weekend was a laid back one. Had some errands to run on Saturday and also pick up groceries for Sunday since everything was closed on Easter. Met some friends for lunch then went home and later fixed a hamburger for supper. On Sunday decided to fix a nice brunch. Had purchased a cinnamon walnut bread so made a big piece of French toast using it. Sliced some strawberries and had a link sausage with it. That was a really big breakfast for me and very enjoyable. Didn't eat anything else until supper. So uneventful but nice.
