The weekend wrap-up, part 1

I want to apologize now for getting ready to spam your flist with a zillion pictures. But I had an AMAZING weekend and wanted to share the evidence with all of you. :-)

I went to the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest here in Chicago on Saturday and Sunday. It's a brand new convention put on by the folks who do Walker Stalker Con. This one featured guests from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham and Heroes Reborn. I was ridiculously excited for this because I've never met any of these actors. I splurged and bought the Gold VIP pass and OMG, it was the best money I've ever spent at a convention! It got me in an hour and a half early, which allowed me to get 6 out of 7 autographs I wanted right off the bat. Then for the rest of the day I was walked to the front of the line for any other autographs I wanted and also to the front of the line for all my photo ops. I mean, it took me 10 minutes to get Stephen Amell's autograph and his line was hours long! Then I also got to sit in the first 4 rows for all the panels and I could keep my seat all weekend. Which meant I got some great pictures. I was very impressed by this con in general. I think it was well run, it was very well attended and the guests were having a blast, so I hope they come back again next year!

So without further ado, I thought I'd start with my photo ops….

OMG, the Green Arrow hugged me! LOL! Look at Stephen's smile! SQUEE! He's freaking GORGEOUS. And so very sweet. In his autograph line I told him I had my first curling lesson and he said that was one more than he'd ever had! And he's Canadian! LOL! He shook my hand, said it was nice to meet me and said he hoped my bruises would heal soon. Ha!

Next up was Robbie Amell. OMG, he is SO freaking handsome! For his autograp I brought a I Want To Believe poster from X-Files for him to sign. We had such a wonderful chat about XF. He told me this hysterical story about the first name of his character being Kyd - which happens to be David Duchovny's son's name. Chris Carter did it as a joke and didn't tell David. When "Agent Miller" hands Mulder his business card, David did a total double take at seeing Kyd and then refused to give the business card back when they needed to do the scene again! Ha!

I adore this pic of me and Colin Donnell! At his autograph table we chatted about poor Tommy Merlyn and that I was excited that he's here in Chicago now filming Chicago Med. He was just the sweetest guy.

Hey Barb! Your photos are really amazing and I'm glad you had such a great time!!!!
I would love to meet Colin Donnell as I liked his character and it sounds like he's a great person!
Wish I could go to one of these events too! Just realized last weekend that there's one in San Jose the weekend before DragonCon ... but I already booked my flight :(.

I'm really sorry that I didn't contact you for a while. I finally managed to move in my new flat 2 months ago and since then there was so many stuff to do! I really try to do better!

Colin was fantastic! I didn’t know much about him prior to this, having only seen him on Arrow, but I’m such a fan of his now. I had no idea that he sings! He’s done a lot of musical theater. I need to check him out on Chicago Med now.

I saw on your twitter that you got moved into your new flat. I’m so happy for you! I hope things are working out well for you there. :-)

Thanks, sweetheart! So glad you enjoyed all the photos. Yes, I paid $450 for the Gold pass, compared to the $800 that Creation charges and I got to meet over twice as many actors from four different shows. I hope Creation is shaking in their boots. They’re not the only game in town anymore!

The con was fabulous! I forgot to mention that even though Stephen Amell’s autograph line was huge, he personalized everyone’s. Funny how Creation refuses to let Jensen and Jared do that and there’s a third of the amount of people in line in comparison. Jerks. Weird thing is, I could swear I saw Adam from Creation there, like scouting out the competition. I saw him twice. I hope he’s shaking in his boots. He’s not the only game in town anymore.

No, I didn’t see her! But the convention center is enormous and there had to be at least a hundred Heroes people working. Did she have a good time? What was her “duty”?

sorry for not being here lately,, I have been in a bad humour. Do you remember that a year and a half I had a sergury in one of my armpits, well the abscess cameback and I had again a sergury and one of the wounds is not healing well so I've been quite upset...

Hey btw honey I was going to tell you, I don't know if you still keep in touch with the superantural conventions,,

well, just in the last SPN convention(the one this weekend, a girl lost her poster with 57 signatures from the SPNcast. She had her poster in a poster tube and apparenlty the housekipping thought it was trash, cause the tube was NEAR the trashcan. COME ON!!! *shaking head* of course nobody believes that the housekipping thought it was trash!

People that have worked on hotels say houskeeping doesn't throw away things that aren't inside the trash can,,

I think it was stolen, and the person that took it was thinking on sale that poster, knowing how much an autographs costs this days..

so, take good care of your autographs and pics honey. I hope the girl recovers her post, but I don't think the poster is going to appear. I know some people is going to be paying attention to ebay.

Oh, Maggie, I’m so sorry to hear this! It’s bad enough having to go through this once, but now twice? :-( I don’t blame you for being upset and out of sorts. It’s got to be frustrating. I’m sending healing thoughts for your recovery. {{HUGS}}

No way! I hadn’t heard this! I don’t believe that housekeeping would accidentally throw it away, either. How they’d know what the poster was, with all the signatures I don’t know, unless she’d left it unrolled and out at some point and housekeeping saw it. I feel so sorry for her. I’d be heartbroken if I lost my poster and I’ve only got half that many signatures on it! I wonder if she has a photograph of it to prove it’s hers if it does show up on eBay. I’ll keep my fingers crossed it gets recovered and returned to her. Even though it’s a long shot.

Good gosh, I will! I actually had them all sitting out on the table in my hotel room over the weekend. I guess I’m thankful they all said “To Barb” so no one else would want them!

Stephen was amazing in person! Curling is the sport you’ll see on the winter Olympics where the people slide the big stone down the ice.

Yes slow its a new life. My old sons took their appartment. Just the last luka life with me. He celebrate his 14 in april. I wasnt sure that you had received the little calendar. I sent you a VP on the LJ too for your birthday. I said you too i have a kitty dean since some months. Love
