Hi all!

So how was everyone's Valentine's Day? Actually, let me back up a bit…

Friday was kind of crazy at work. I had those 50 whoopie pies I needed to distribute, which is always like a three-ring circus. Then I had three people show up at my desk wanting to buy some. Umm…sorry, no extras to sell! That's why I do PRE-ORDERS people! [shakes head]

Then the color laser printer I have at my desk (which is mine, not the company's) which I just bought from Staples less than two weeks ago stopped printing color. ARGH! I was back and forth with Brother's customer service people all freaking day for them to tell me - it needs service. The hell it does! It's brand new! So then I had to get with Staples and arrange for a new one to be shipped to me and the defective one picked up by FedEx. Annoying!!

It was also Taco Friday at work for lunch, which was set up buffet style. It was only $5.00, which was a great deal. But of course some people were absolute pigs. Everyone was taking two tacos until these two showed up (who everyone knows goes around eating everything they can find in the office) and took five each! I was proud of a co-worker of mine for speaking up and calling them on it, saying it was incredibly rude and now others wouldn't have anything at all. It fell on deaf ears, though, as the pigs just turned and walked away with the ten tacos. But at least they were shamed in front of everyone.

The weather report had been calling for sub-zero temperatures on Saturday and snow on Sunday, so John and I had our Valentine's Day dinner on Friday instead. Nothing fancy - just IHOP. They were running a Buy One Get One Free so why not take advantage of it? I had delicious raspberry white chocolate chip pancakes and John had a skillet breakfast. Yum!

Saturday was rather boring. It was most certainly freezing out so I spent the day catching up on TV shows on the DVR and even ended up taking a nap.

Sunday was a bit more productive. It did indeed snow ALL freaking day so I'm glad I didn't have to go anywhere. Instead I was a busy bee and finished my new ebook! Woot! Broken Soldier is DONE! And it clocked in at 50,103 words, meeting my goal. I now need to start the editing process and get the cover art done. I'm hoping to have it published by the middle of next month. :-)

For Valentine's Day, I got John the DVD of Spectre since he's a huge James Bond fan and he got me the new X-Files anthology book. Yay!  And we had pizza for dinner since we weren't leaving the house. :-)

And that's about it! How was YOUR weekend?

I went out on Sunday,I was bundled up like Nanook of the North. Went to see Hail, Ceaser. I enjoyed it. It was a spoof on the 40's movies..

Nanook of the North! I haven’t heard anyone say that other than my parents! :-)

A friend at work saw Hail, Ceaser and really liked it. Especially Channing Tatum.

Well done with your book!
It felt so cold here on Saturday. Colder than it feels now, which is quite cold.
I went and got my hair trimmed on Saturday and then went to the supermarket. And I stayed in on Sunday. My mother bought me a rose and chocolates, lol!
Those greedy people at your work sound selfish. I would never take more than my share and I would be horrified to learn that people went without. That sucks.
Mmmm I love pancakes.
We've been having trouble with a printer at work too. It's so annoying when the cause it hard to find.

Thanks, sweetheart! It’s been a bit of a tough road to get this book finished but I’m proud of what I’ve written. I just hope other people like it!

It’s still freezing here, too, and we got more snow yesterday on top of it. [sigh] I’m ready for spring now!

Aww, rose and chocolates! That was so nice of your mom. :-)

Yes, can you believe how rude those people were, taking all that food? They should be ashamed of themselves.

So my broken printer got sent back yesterday and a new one is supposed to arrive tomorrow. This one had better work!

Rod and I were thinking of going to see Deadpool, but we couldn't because Sam got sick. Migraine. Poor thing and I never leave her when this happens. So instead, we hung out together at the house, grilled chicken and I made crockpot macaroni and cheese. It was yummy. Sam ate little, but was in good spirits by dinner time. We're going to try and sneak away next weekend for Deadpool. Can't wait. :) Everyone I know has said it was awesome and they are going a 2nd time. It won't be a movie we're taking Sam to, that's for sure. LOL Rod got a box of chocolates for me and Sam and each a card. That was so sweet of him. But then I told him that chocolate gives the Migraine a good start. And what did she do? She ate six of them. *sigh* Kids!

Oh I can sympathize with Sam. I’ve suffered from chronic migraines since I was sixteen. However, I’m lucky in that chocolate in particular doesn’t affect me. Thank god! LOL! I’d be a terrible baker otherwise!
