The weekend wrap-up

So we finally, finally(!) had two nice days in a row where it wasn't freaking raining. Actually I take that back. We had ONE day where it wasn't raining and 3/4 of another day. We've just been underwater here for weeks on end, like the entire month of June. We haven't had a summer, that's for sure.

So it was like a gift from God when Saturday dawned clear and bright. I didn't even know what that glowing ball up in the sky was! I couldn't have been happier that it was a good morning because I had volunteer duty with the police department from 7:45 am - 10:45 am. I was helping direct traffic, stopping cars at an intersection so that runners from a charity race could get through. It was easy work and it was great to be outside.

After I got home I felt like being outside some more, so I asked John if he wanted to go check out this mini golf course near us that we'd never been to. So we hopped in the car and played a rousing game of golf! This place was so cute! Nice little course that went up and down a hill, had several water features and several challenging holes. But in the end, I was victorious! LOL!

Most of Sunday was just as nice. John and I took a leisurely walk around the lake in the morning because it was supposed to rain again that afternoon. The water level in the lake is SO high. Lots of people out fishing and lots of ducks out swimming.

The weather ended up staying nice until about 7:00 pm when the rain moved in. So I spent the afternoon in my chair in front of the window reading a book, then I got up and made a double layer chocolate and vanilla marble cake. Yum!

And here we are, Monday morning and the torrential rains have returned. It was coming down so hard on my way into work I could barely see the road. SO DONE with this weather! ARGH!

yay GOLF!!!

omg I remember when I was a kid and we would go to vacations we used to stay in this motel that had mini-golf and we played there with my dad :)

I went to see the movie "Inside Out" its really really a great movie, its from Pixar. I went to watch the movie with my brother and we both loved it, we were laughing in the entire movie. I totally recommend that movie. :D

Mini golf is a blast! My family has played since my sister and I were kids. :-) I have next Monday off for Independence Day, so John and I found another course a little further away from us that we're going to try. Their website looks great!

I've heard such good reviews for Inside Out. I might have to check it out. Glad you liked it!
