Broadchurch is on a roll!

Well there were certainly some twists and turns on Broadchurch last night! The very surprising return of a character, surprising testimony at Joe's trial, surprising reveals about the Sandbrook case. Really good episode.
Though a couple things have annoyed me. I don't understand why Tom hates Ellie so much and refuses to live with her. She's not the bad guy! His father's the one that killed his best friend! Then there's Beth having her baby and then what, 2 or 3 hours later traipsing off to court, taking the hours-old baby with her?? How is that realistic in any way? And then Alec's wife being the defensive one when it was HER who lost the original Sandbrook evidence because she was having an affair! She should be thrilled he wants to reopen the case, giving her a chance to finally redeem herself. Yet she completely shut him down. Guess she's happy that he took the fall for her and destroyed his life and doesn't want to stir things up. Really don't like that woman.
I keep forgetting that this series is only 8 episodes long and this was the 4th episode already. Can't wait to see how everything plays out, both in court and with the Sandbrook case.
