Hey all! I had five days off for the New Year's holiday, so I decided to unplug from LJ and the computer in general. Take a break. And it was lovely. I spent some much needed time with the husband, I read several books, caught up on some TV (mainly the second season of Gillian Anderson's show 'The Fall') and I worked on a new short story I'm writing.

Was supposed to get together with my best buddy [livejournal.com profile] charityflint on Friday for a belated birthday celebration (lunch and a movie) but the poor thing was really sick so we've rescheduled for this weekend. So instead I spent the day taking down all of the Christmas decorations in the house while John took down all of the lights from outside. Good thing, too, as the weather turned nasty on Saturday and Sunday with freezing rain, ice and snow and really high winds. Yep, welcome to January in Chicago. [sigh]

Took down all of my Christmas decorations in my cubicle at work this morning and now it looks so boring!

Hope everyone's 2015 is off to a good start! How did you ring in the New Year?

Know how your hubby feels as I have been fighting off a bug since Christmas morning. So it is making taking down Christmas decorations a slow process. And being sick made me take things easy at least for over a week. Missed a couple of dinners though and single girl rule number one...never turn down free meals. Ah well, back to the normal routine now.

Aww, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. It especially sucks around the holidays. I have three friends who spent either Christmas or New Years in bed with the flu. You take care of yourself and take it easy!
