ASK ME ANYTHING - Day Eight - [livejournal.com profile] fifimom wants to know if I'm still enjoying Supernatural?

Oooh, that's a loaded question! LOL! My love-hate relationship with SPN since season six is pretty well known. I really WANT to enjoy SPN this season because I hated last season SO much, because of how Sam treated Dean (I wouldn't save you, you're not my brother). And we're all just supposed to forget about that when Sam says "I lied" in the finale last season. Sorry, but I just can't forget that. So unfortunately that's completely coloring my view of this season. Which is a shame, because the episodes have been good and the brother banter is back, but it just rings very hollow to me because of Sam's actions. If last season hadn't happened I'd really be enjoying this one.

BUT even if I'm not madly in love with the show anymore, I still love the fandom and all of YOU. :-)

I think I already felt this way after s8. Especially after that horrendous scene that was supposed to make it all ok in the s8 season finale. (sorry, but I had absolutely no sympathy for Sam manipulating Dean into feeling sorry for him after he'd spent a year screwing him over.)

s9 only made it worse, because it made Sam even more of an asshole, while the show tried to make us believe that Dean somehow was the bad guy for not wanting to let his brother die...

I have been liking s10, but th show will have to do a lot more than it has been doing to get me to regain my love for Sam after the past two seasons. And don't even get me started on how bored I tend to get with any Castiel storyline that doesn't involve Dean.

I couldn’t agree more with every single thing you said. Season 8 just made me see red. I actually stopped watching for probably 5-6 episodes I was so fed up with Sam. And yeah, DEAN was the bad guy for doing whatever it took to save his brother in season nine?? Honestly, I don’t even know why he did it, after the way Sam had treated him the previous season. He didn’t care about Dean. Why should Dean care about Sam? That’s what drives me crazy about Dean - his unwavering loyalty to Sam when his brother doesn’t deserve it.

And yeah, the previous two seasons have so colored my view that I just can’t truly enjoy this season even though the episodes have been good.

Thank you Jeremy Carver for not being any better than Sara Gamble. I had such high hopes for Jeremy when he took over and all he did was carry on her torch for Sam.

we all have a season, isn't?

For me is season 8, I really didn't like the storyline that Sam "normal Sam" didn't look for Dean, even when his brother and Cas disappear in front of him and Crowley was present.

What happened with the brothers that would go to the end of the world to save the other?

I'm really liking this season, although like @liliaeth said everytime Cas is in a scene and is not with Dean or Sam, I'm zzzzz ,, so I use it as my cue to write something on twitter or LJ

Oh man, S8 was awful! Don’t even get me started!

What happened with the brothers that would go to the end of the world to save the other?

What happened was that Sam became the center of the universe on the show and Dean was just this guy in the background, tagging along, not worth much.

Yeah, as much as I love Cas, all of his time this season spent with Hannah was extremely boring. If he’s not interacting with Sam, Dean or Crowley it’s just boring.
