More adventures in baking

So today is my second Bake Sale at work. This time around I did my larger size bundt cakes, which is a little more than double the size of my mini's. I sold 30 of them, which is awesome. I had two new flavors - organic gluten free banana and pumpkin. Needless to say, they were my post popular sellers. I even had a gal from the company that works on the first floor buy two!

The extra cash that this is bringing in is great. We're hoping to purchase a table top convection oven so that we can cook two batches at once, greatly cutting down on work time.

I won't be doing another sale until Thanksgiving, trying to capitalize on those holiday parties that need desserts. What better than individual size cakes! I'm working on a cranberry orange recipe. Thought that would go good after a turkey dinner. :-)

Well I'm off to start delivering my baked goods. But first a few photos….

OH! That looks SO enticing...no wonder you´re sold out in nothing flat. I love your crayon theme popping up in the boxes :-) But wait - shouldn´t you rename the bigger ones? They are no real "baby" bundts anymore...not grown-up cakes yet, so maybe something like "Barb´s Teenybopper Bundts"? Okay, no three Bs but still... ;-)) (*whispers* thought of "Toddler Tartes" as another brand but that would mean a different baking pan...Aw, nothing to thank for - you´re welcome *G*)

Ohoh, the minis...okay, let´s see...we need three Bs...they are little and round - what about "Barb´s Button (or Buttony?) Bundts" or "Barb´s Beady (or Bead?) Bundts"?? And now I have a headache from thinking and dictionary surfing...;-))

Have you thought about taking pre-orders for the holiday dinner season? I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in ordering by the half dozen, especially after having already tried the tasty things during your bake sales.

Oh yeah, all of the ones in boxes in my photo were all pre-orders. That’s been working out great. The others in the pans were extras that I brought in for spur of the moment sales. :-) I’m really hoping to capitalize on Thanksgiving dinner desserts next month!

John is really pushing for us to ship, but trying to find packaging is proving difficult plus the fact that these are fresh baked goods and can’t take 4 days to get there, you know? Shipping could be quite expensive for next day or second day. But we’re looking into it!

I love how everyone likes the boxes! Yep, gluten free. And vegan, too. Since I work at a health food company I thought it would be a wise move. :-) I'm actually working on a new blueberry gluten free one right now.
