I can't believe how fast the summer has gone by, because here we are, September 10th already, and it's time for Supernatural's fifth season premiere!!



I'm both excited and nervous about this season and I think I'll be on the edge of my seat for the next 22 episodes. :-)

Last night my best buddy charityflint came over for some girl time. It's been a busy summer for both of us and we've barely seen each other, so it was great to just hang out.

One of the things we did after we got back from dinner was to watch the All Hell Breaks Loose convention DVD that I just got in the mail on Monday. We laughed ourselves silly as we watched Misha's Q&A session. What a nut! LOL! Man, I can't wait to finally meet him in person next month. :-) We watched Jared's Q&A as well and he was a goofball, too, getting the candy stuck in his teeth over and over again. Ha! And I loved him standing there drawing on that shirt. What an artist! ;-) Oh, and Charity and I thought Jared looked totally HOT in those cowboy boots. YUM!

I thought it was funny that when Misha was asked what character other than Castiel he'd like to play on SPN he instantly answered Dean. And then when Jared was asked if Sam could date any character on the show, who would it be, he instantly said Dean, too! ROTFL!! Ah, it's great to be Dean. :-)

I'm hoping to have time tonight to watch more of the DVD. Kudos to Hub Productions for taping the whole convention and then selling the DVD. Why can't Creation do the same, money hungry company that they are?

Supernatural's Jared Padalecki turned down G.I. Joe role

JARED PADALECKI, who stars with Jensen Ackles in TV ghost-busting show Supernatural, has revealed he had to turn down the lead role in this summer's action-adventure movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

He admitted his commitment to the TV role of Sam Winchester had cost him the chance to play soldier Conrad Hauser, codenamed Duke.

That role is now played by Channing Tatum, with the movie due out in August.

Jared, 26, said: "It is weird because on the one hand I couldn't do [G.I. Joe] because I was doing Supernatural, but if I hadn't been doing Supernatural who knows if I would have gotten offered G.I. Joe.

"It would have been great but then what, you still have to keep working. I'll get it when it's time. I think so many people set goals and then get frustrated when something doesn't happen, but I feel like this is a marathon, not a sprint."

Meanwhile, Jensen Ackles quashed internet rumours that saw him linked with the fourth Resident Evil film. He said: "I don't know where that came from. I've never seen a script, never had a conversation."

Speaking to Coventry Telegraph sister title the Sunday Mercury at the Asylum 3 convention in Birmingham, co-star Jensen confirmed what The Geek Files reported earlier from the event: That he and Jared have signed for six years (despite Supernatural creator Eric Kripke only having a five-year contract), and that they WILL come back for a sixth season - provided, of course, that the network renews the show and it still has something good to offer.

Jensen, 31, said: "I don't feel necessarily definitive about season five being the final season, I just know that is where Eric has led the series from the very beginning.

"He could very well hand it over to one of the other writers and stay on as consultant producer, but how the story would go from there I don't know.

"I think the studio and network are preparing themselves for this to be the final year but, to be honest, I thought this past season was going to be the final year and it was the best season we have had.

"If that bleeds into season five it would be stupid to get rid of it because it is one of the biggest shows.

"I could do another. It's a good job."

Jared added: "The adage is that season six means residuals, syndication. Yay, life is good. Buy a new car.

"But it is not about that. I really want to focus on creating and building a character. If there is still something for me as an actor to bring to Sam then absolutely I'd do season six, otherwise I think Sam and Dean should go out fighting."

Wow, Jared could've been in the G.I. Joe movie? I had no idea! But honestly, I'd rather see him playing Sam for another season instead of in G.I. Joe. :-)

JUST HOW CLOSE ARE Supernatural costars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki? So close that they decided to buy a home together in Vancouver, where they film the show. But these roommates share more than just a mortgage: Both guys hail from Texas, and they credit their similar Southern upbringings with their instant connection. “Texas is its own country,” says Ackles, 31. “Things are just different there.”

When they’re on the set, Ackles and Padalecki still get their fill of home cooking, courtesy of the catering staff, which whips up barbecue on a regular basis. But where do the stars go for grub when they head back to Texas? We found out.

FLYING SAUCER
“It’s this great beer bar I like to go to when I want to just chill out,” says Padalecki, 26. “It’s really mellow and low-key.”

MI COCINA
“I could pretty much eat there breakfast, lunch, and dinner,” Ackles says. “You’ve got to get the nachos -- a mix of chicken and the steak.”

WHATABURGER
“Really, the food that I miss the most is Whataburger,” Padalecki says. “[I get] the double-meat, double-cheese Whataburger with fries and a vanilla milkshake. It’s like 4,000 calories!”

NICK & SAM’S
“I’ll land in Dallas, and my brother will pick me up and take me straight to Nick & Sam’s,” Padalecki says. The steak house is also a favorite of Ackles, who claims, “Jared got that from me.”

DICKEY’S BARBECUE PIT
“Dickey’s is not a fine-dining establishment,” Ackles says, “but it’s where I’d go with my friends after school or after a game.”

I just saw Jared on Bonnie Hunt and what a cutie! I loved it when he and Bonnie talked about Jensen. :-) And wow, he made great eye contact with the audience, which is nice, since so many fans were there.
