OMG you guys, I was SO PRODUCTIVE this weekend! And it pretty much all had to do with Christmas. I was wiped out by last night but look at what I accomplished:

• Got up early Saturday morning, ate, showered, got dressed and headed off to the mall. I had two gifts I needed, for my good friends at work. It was FREEZING out. Was only 7 degrees, but the sun was shining. Got to the mall 15 minutes after they opened and the place was practically deserted. I hit Macy's, Kohl's and Carson's in just over an hour. Got gifts for my friends and for me and saved a TON of money with sale prices and coupons I had. I got myself a new Columbia 3-in-1 winter jacket at Carson's. Regular price was $250.00. I paid $125.00. Score!

• Left the mall and went to the vitamin store to pick up some stuff for John.

• Finished at the vitamin store and went and got my hair cut and did some grocery shopping right next door to the salon.

• Got home, had lunch and sat down and did all 55 of my Christmas cards.

• Finished the cards and made some butterscotch pudding from scratch. Yum!

• Went down to the basement and found the box with my Christmas village and got that all set up, along with putting up the stockings.

• Had dinner, collapsed, watched TV and went to bed

• I knew it was going to be snowing on Sunday, which is why I did all my running around on Saturday and sure enough, we got about 3 inches yesterday. But I was still in Christmas mode, so I didn't mind. Looked really pretty out.

• I love my cats, I really do, but they are so destructive! Especially Bean. Last year she was only a few months old and too small to do anything to the Christmas tree but this year we knew she'd be climbing up it and knocking it over, so I came up with a new plan:

I made a tree out of lights and stuck it to my dining room wall! I think it turned out brilliantly and I don't have to worry about the cats destroying anything this year. :-)

• Went back down to the basement and found all of my Christmas decorations for my cubicle at work that I took in this morning and got everything put up. Looks great!

• Did laundry, had lunch, got together a garbage bag full of clothes to donate and sat down and started to read the book Divergent (since I'm curious about the movie they're filming here in Chicago) while the snow fell silently outside. Had dinner, got caught up on my email and got two great Groupon deals - one for dinner for my birthday in a few weeks and one for another glass fusion class at a local art museum.

WHEW! See, told you! VERY PRODUCTIVE. I really need a nap now, though. :-)

*collapses in sympathy*

COOL TREE - love the idea and it looks just awesome!! Now little Beany just has to keep her paws to herself...don´t wanna paint the devil onto the wall - as we say - BUT if it isn´t out of ANY reach she still might try and jump to jingle the ornaments...;-)

OMG, I LOVE the tree!! What a great idea! Glad to hear your weekend was far more productive than mine lol. I had to work on a couple of non-fun work things but on the up side I got to get together with my son and daughter-in-law and her family for a Christmas visit and to celebrate my son's bday so that was fun. One day out of seven is better than none though, am I right? lol I sent you an email an hour or so ago. I hope I've still got the right address. I really need to sort out my address book one of these days. If you don't get it, let me know.

Jeez, I am tired just listening to what all you did. I am recovering from a neck spasm/sprain so some of my Christmas is going slow. But did get my decorations up right after Thanksgiving. Probably did something to the neck carrying them down from upstairs. But got you beat on the weather, 80 degrees and sunny here today.

Cute idea!!!! We used to wire the tree to the ceiling! And only ever decorated half way down: we still only decorate half way down even with no excuse!

That was a very productive weekend!! Much more so than mine (it sucks being a girl sometimes!!!!). The tree is awesome, I love it! Neither Chloe or Sophie ever had an interest in climbing the tree/messing with it. Sophie lays underneath it every now and then, but that was more Chloe's thing (makes me really miss her this time of year).

We've been getting snow - which is messing things up quite a bit...but, we're getting there.

OMG, wiring it to the ceiling! What a brilliant idea! Man, I wish we had thought of that. :-) But yes, we did get into the habit of at least not decorating the bottom several layers. Cats. Gotta love ‘em!

Ha! I got tired all over again just typing it up! Ooh, sorry about the neck sprain. That sounds painful. Take it easy!

My good friend is in Tampa right now for a football championship for her son and she texted me yesterday with the weather. I hate you both! LOL!

Thank you! I thought it was pretty inspired myself. :-) And the cats aren’t the least bit interested in it!

Kim! Hey you! First, yes, I did get your email and hope to get it answered tomorrow. :-)

Glad you like the tree! So far so good - the cats aren’t interested in it at all.

That’s great you were able to spend time with your family and take a break from things. Your son is a December baby like me?

I’m telling you, I don’t know how I accomplished all that without collapsing. :-)

Every cat I’ve ever had has been fascinated with the Christmas tree. Especially my Chloe. She would get under it and then try and climb straight up the middle. Everything would start shaking, ornaments falling off. It would drive us crazy, but now that she’s gone I miss her antics this time of year.

We got more snow today. Thankfully it’s only coming in 1-3 inch spurts and not a blizzard. I hope it’ll be around for Christmas. Then it can melt. :-)
