The Truth is (still) Out There

I got my new TV Guide in the mail the other day and as soon as I flipped it open there was this totally awesome photo:
MULDER AND SCULLY 4-EVER!
I still can't believe it's been 20 years. X-Files was my first fandom ever. It's where I got my AgtSpooky name. It's where I got my start in…everything. Going to conventions, writing fanfic, taking part in discussion forums, etc.
A lot of people say "don't pick a screen name that relates to one fandom" because then when you leave the fandom you're stuck with it. But you know what? Even though I'm not active in XF anymore, I have truly become Spooky. And I love it! Everyone knows me by that. Heck even my license plates say SPOOKY. :-)
X-Files will always mean so much to me. Not only was it a kick-ass show but it had strong, kick-ass characters who still cared deeply for one another. Chris Carter created magic with that show and I'm glad that FOX took a chance on it and stuck with it. It may have unraveled a bit at the end, but the final episode was all that I could have wished for.
I hope Carter was inspired by the overwhelming support at Comic Con and he does write another movie, this time sticking closer to the core of what XF is. Because the world could always use more Mulder and Scully, keeping us safe from aliens and monsters. :-)
What about you guys? What was your first fandom and does it still mean as much to you today as it did back then?
