Bean - the great escape artist

So our well-planned cat introduction just went out the window as Bean made her escape from the bedroom when John opened the door a little while ago. She shot right between his legs and nearly collided with Mandy, who was in the hallway.

Bean went right up to her and was like, "Hey! Hi! Nice to meet you!" and Mandy was all, "WTF??"

They sniffed one another then Bean was on her merry way down to the living room before Mandy recovered and ran and hid down in the basement! [facepalm] Mandy is twice Bean's size, which is why we got a kitten so that Mandy wouldn't feel threatened and instead she runs and hides like a baby!

John's like, "Yep, Bean's gonna be in charge around here."

I'm just glad there wasn't any hissing or growling or swipes at each other. Though Mandy just may be in shock and won't be so pleased next time they meet. We'll have to see.

John let Bean have the run of the place for about a half hour before putting her back in the bedroom so that Mandy would come up from the basement. He's going to bring Bean out again later for another half hour, then increase the time each day so that by the end of the week they'll be out together all day.

And hopefully there will be peace in cat-land in the Nice-Miller household! :-)
