I absolutely hated Yellow Fever. To me, that's the worst episode EVER, of all five seasons. But Dabb and Loflin are hit and miss with me. I disliked the first episodes they did (Yellow Fever, After School Special and Jump the Shark), but then I liked Children and Sam, Interrupted.
But so far they're not writing Dean horribly in the first three issues of the comic. He's concerned about Sam and about Sam and John fighting, stuff like that. I haven't had an issue with characterization with either Sam or Dean. So I've got hope they'll do the final fight between Sam and John justice.
I had no idea that their backgrounds were in comics, though. Thanks for that info!
