I, too, want the apocalypse storyline over with and thankfully that will definitely be happening and we'll be starting fresh in season six.
I've never felt that Cas has come between the brothers in any way. I feel that he's been quite the ally for them. Besides Bobby, he's truly been the only regular/semi-regular that I've liked in years. Can we say Ruby and Bela? Barf and good riddance!
So yeah, if Cas can pop up every now and then next year I'll be totally find with that.
