I'm glad there was an improvement in ratings from the previous week, though the ratings still remain unstable week to week which is disappointing. I have to confess, I didn't love this episode. I mean the end...a weepy Dean Winchester...what's not to love..but the epidose in it's entirety for me swung between slapstick comedy (the cherub scene, and Castiel's eating frenzy and general interaction with the boys) to a degree of "slasher film" horror that I felt was a little over the top and too much shock for shock value. The opening scene did nothing for me, and watching someone stick their hands into bubbling french fry grease....yeah....queasy.

I've struggled on and off all season, and that drives me crazy because I love the show and love the boys. I'm holding faith in Kripke's "master plan" and that season 5 will be the culmination of what he has been building for the last 5 years. And at the risk of getting lynched for saying it out loud, I wonder given the ups and downs of ratings and fan response this year if a season 6 truly does make sense. As much as I don't want to see Jared and Jensen leaves our weekly tv screens, I'd rather see the show go out with a bang than a whimper. Just my two cents.
