Just read an interesting tidbit over at Multipleverses.com, regarding Supernatural's season five casting info.

The article was rounding up all of the latest casting spoilers that have come out in the last week or so, and this jumped out at me:

Announced last week- Sam is getting a visit from someone from his past. Adrianne Palicki will be coming back to the show as Sam’s girlfriend Jessica. Is she a spirit? A hallucination? An angel? We don’t know yet. Adrianne and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are both signed to do episodes on a recurring basis through the end of this season. Sounds like the producers are using their chits to bring back the gorgeous blond for Sam.

Ummm....what? Jeffrey Dean Morgan coming back in a recurring role? How I'd love for that to be true, but something tells me...no.

Now the rest of the article sites the sources for the rest of the casting spoilers, so those are true. But this one?

So I left a comment at the end of the article, asking where they read the info about JDM. My comment hasn't been posted yet, as it's a moderated site, so I'll keep checking back to see if they answer me.

I know it's going to turn out not to be true, and I really, really wish these journalists would get their facts straight before publishing their articles. But I'll gladly eat my words if Jeff really is coming back, even for one episode! :-)

ETA: Ok, both myself and morganslady asked for a clarification as to JDM returning and here is the website's response to both our questions:

from mine: JDM is not confirmed to be coming back- but like Adrianne he is optioned to come back through the end of this season for an unspecified number of interviews. He talked about that at Wondercon back in Feb when promoting Watchmen. He has said he would love to do some more episodes- so lets hope that this year we get a good a flashback epi! Maybe with JDM and Bobby.

from morganslady's: JDM has not been asked to do more epis- he is contracted to possibly do more through the end of this season along with Adrianne. I have been waiting patiently hoping Adrianne would return ever since he mentioned this back in Feb. We got word she will be back for at least an episode- hopefully they can squeeze in a couple more papa Winchester epis as well. Sorry for the confusion! This is referring to his contract which is different from Jensen and Jared who are contracted through 6 seasons. Kripke as we know is only signed through 5.

So as I thought, it's complete speculation on the website's part, and I wish they hadn't of worded their article the way they did. They got our hopes up!
