You know how I found out? I was balancing my checkbook and logged into my bank account, where I saw a Paypal instant transfer for $300. Well, I knew I didn't do that! So I tried logging into my Paypal account and it wouldn't let me! My account had been suspended for suspicious activity.

So that REALLY pissed me off. Paypal suspected something was going on, that there had been an unauthorized transaction on my account, but they NEVER CONTACTED ME. How's that for customer service? I had to discover it on my own. Thank god I did just randomly, one day after it happened. It could've been a month before I realized!

So then I had to call Paypal and get my account reinstated and start the investigation. I'm really furious with Paypal for not sending me an email about this.

Will they be able to get the money taken from the checking account back as well or do you have to do a whole other thing with the bank?

They said they'll get it all back for me (hopefully, eventually) and all $600 will end up in my Paypal account, where I'll have to transfer the $300 back into my bank account.

I hope they're caught.

Paypal told me they know who they are, so I've got my fingers crossed.

These online institutions claim to be safe, and they're so widely used by so many people, that it lulls you into a false sense of security

Yep, exactly. Especially Paypal, who always touts how secure they are. Not so much!

Leaving you in far better shape to help me decide how to track this asswipe down and kill him tomorrow.

LOL! Oh god, honey, thank you for the laugh. I certainly needed it. :-)
If you don't have an account you can create one now.
