And you know, hearing about all the terrible fires in So. Cal. really brings to the fore how dangerous a job fighting fires is, and how terribly hard firefighters work.
BTW, I was a *huge* fan of "Emergency!" It was my favorite show when I was a kid, and I can remember a couple times when my punishment for doing this or that wrong was not being allowed to watch the show. So I'd sit in the hallway and *listen* to the TV to see what Johnny and Roy were up to that week. =)
I also enjoyed "Third Watch", though with that show I was really a bigger fan of the police storyline, than the firefighter storyline.
