Well it's back to work today after a lovely 4 day Memorial Day holiday. Ugh. Did not want to get up that early this morning!
But at least it was a great four days. It was supposed to have rained a lot, but thankfully when it did rain it was mainly overnight, except for yesterday when we got a huge storm in the late afternoon.
So let's see, what did I get up to….?
On Saturday, John and I got up early and went to breakfast at this cute cafe we love. I had the most amazing French toast that was stuffed with Nutella and strawberry jam. OMG, so good! Then we went off to the French Market, our first trip of the season. We picked up all sorts of yummy stuff to eat, from fruit to pastries to savory meat pies. We ate good all weekend!
On Sunday we ran some errands in the morning then took a trip to my comic book store to pick up my monthly stash. Then I sat and read for most of the afternoon before John and I took a long walk around the lake since the weather was so beautiful.
On Monday I suggested we go mini golfing. Since I was sure it was going to be packed I wanted to get there when it opened at 11:00 am. We got there about ten minutes early and were there first ones there. We sat down on the bench outside the front door and one of the employees came out and opened up early for us! How nice was that?? And then they must've been having a holiday special because instead of $6.00 each, it was only $5.00 for the both of us! Sweet! Sure enough, about 20 minutes later the families started piling in and we were nearly halfway done with the course. I ended up winning by ONE point! Ha!
Afterwards we went to Moe's Mexican Grill for lunch. We've never eaten there and one opened up just down the road from the golf course. Wow, good food! They had just as many toppings, if not more, than Chipolte, and their prices are WAY more reasonable. Plus you get free chips and salsa with every order. We'll definitely be back.
Then on Tuesday we went to Dave and Busters to play pool and video games and have lunch. It was great since most everyone had gone back to work and school is still in session so there was basically no one there. I ended up winning all three games of pool (woot!) then 2 out of 3 race car games. We both sucked at the Terminator game (ha!) and I think John beat me at the submarine game. When we had lunch (which was yummy) we did the combo that comes with a Power Card that's supposed to have 48 credits on them. For some reason the server came back to us and said there's actually 148 credits on EACH of the cards! Score! And then they were running some promotion and some of the games we played were free!
And that was basically my holiday in a nutshell. :-) How was YOURS?
