Action packed awesome story.

Soldiers Connor and Shawn are members of an inter-agency group called the Shadow Unit. Its elite members specialise in undercover operations. They’re tasked with taking down an underworld organisation whose business is alcohol/sex and drugs, but who have recently branched out into the arms business.

Shawn and Connor’s assignments are to get inside and gather information, one as security, one as a boy-toy to a leader with a penchant for western men. The drugs lord is also suspected of bumping off his old man.

What the bosses of the Shadow Unit don’t know is that Connor and Shawn are lovers, and have been in love for some time. All that being said, Shawn and Connor are realists. They aren’t under any illusions over what their job, has, will and may contain. They are prepared to do what is necessary for the safety of all.

The boys are opposites in many ways except their love for each other. And, the author quickly establishes exactly how close the men are. Their last time together before the op, almost made me cry. The scene was absolutely beautiful.

What follows is an eye-opening story about what members of our government agencies are prepared to go through for the greater good. Shawn is subjected to drugs and rape while Connor has no choice but to watch and attempt to limit the damage. Emotionally and physically their assignment is brutal.

The intensity and imagery the author provides made it impossible for me not to get caught up in the mission these guys were completing. I hated the bad guys, could easily picture the drug using scenes and the after effects. My heart went out to Connor, who could see his man being taken apart and praying the operation was over before the point of no return.

There was so much I liked about this story.

Hard to read but great

Wow, what a story. While I loved this book, some of it was really hard to read. If you are looking for a heart wrenching story with a HEA I recommend you give this a try.
