Hey guys! Happy Friday!

Wow, didn't mean to disappear all week. I got new glasses with a stronger prescription on Monday afternoon and I've been struggling to adjust. Had some headaches and my eyes are just tired by the time I get home from work. So I haven't been on the computer in the evenings. But things are better today.

A few random things from the week:

• My cousin sent me pictures from my grandmother's surprise 90th birthday party. She was wearing a Happy Birthday tiara and looked adorable. :-)

• I have another volunteer assignment with the police department tomorrow morning. Traffic control again, this time for a charity race that's going through town. I need to make sure the runners get across a big intersection safely. Why do they keep putting little me in front of oncoming vehicles? LOL!

• We got our quarterly bonus at work today and holy cow I'm glad I was sitting down! I know I complain about my job, but we do have some pretty awesome benefits.

• Have gotten most of my stuff together for my author's table at RainbowCon in Tampa. I leave in just three weeks! I found out that I'll be hosting the Doctor Who trivia game one night. Yay! Sounds like fun and I hope people show up. I also have my costume together for the Big Cat Masquerade party.

• Is anyone watching Wayward Pines or The Whispers? I'm finding both shows really intriguing.

• Now that I'm reading the Dresden Files books I tracked down all the episodes on YouTube (thank you [livejournal.com profile] duffy_99!) and started watching them yesterday. I really like Paul Blackthorne but think Murphy is casted completely wrong. I love that his blasting rod is a hockey stick and his wand is a drumstick. Ha! Interesting that they've made Bob into a person and not just a talking skull.

* And while we're on the topic of TV shows, my excitement over the X-Files revival continues to grow as more pictures and spoilers come out of Vancouver. I jumped up and down when I saw what today's cover of the new Entertainment Weekly is. SQUEE!

And that's about it from here! Hope you guys have been having a good week and enjoy your weekend!

I love it when karma comes around and kicks people in the ass who so well deserve it.

Amusing anecdote from my husband: he was at the grocery store this morning picking up just a few things. There was only one cashier on duty, but only one person ahead of John. Just as the cashier starts ringing John up a woman comes up in line behind him and makes this impatient huffing noise at John. He turns around and sees her holding a loaf of bread. He turns and says, "What?". She says very snottily, "You could have let me go ahead of you. I only have ONE item and I'm running late." First, how was John supposed to know what she was holding since she was BEHIND HIM? Second, the cashier had already started his order. So he replies back in the same tone of voice, "And I only have FOUR. Calm down." Ha!

A minute later John sees her jump in her big fancy Lexus and squeal out of the parking lot, right next door to Dunkin Donuts where she gets in the drive-thru lane. Here's where karma comes in - there had to be 10 cars ahead of her! See, act like a bitch and it gets revisited upon you. She must have been spitting nails by the time she got to the window! Gee, guess she should've planned her day better and not left her house so late. John laughed all the way home. :-)
