A bit of this and that

• It's Friday the 13th! Ack!

• We continue to have sub-zero temperatures. This is January weather for crying out loud and it's only December! But at least the temperatures are keeping the snow from melting. I'd like to have it stick around for Christmas

• I've got FIVE new Christmas cookie recipes I'm going to be trying out for the department's White Elephant gift exchange/party next week at the office. I'm excited to try something new!

• We received our $100 VISA gift card Christmas present from the company today. Amazon, here I come! Though I'll be good and wait until after Christmas AND my birthday to spend it.

• I'm wearing a new sweater and earrings today. Everyone is always amazed when I come to work actually looking like a girl and not in jeans and gym shoes.

• Made reservations for the hubby and I and charityflint and her husband at a French bistro for our holiday dinner get together next Saturday. Yum!

• Got stalled out on my long Star Trek Enterprise story so I took a break and instead wrote a shorter Christmas-themed one. Finished it this morning and will be posting it on Monday.

• A co-worker came to my desk this morning dressed like an elf. She looked amazing and she wanted to thank me for inspiring her to do it because of all of my Christmas decorations and the fact that I wear Santa hats and reindeer antler headbands and don't care what other people think. I was really touched by that! Wish more people in my office had that same holiday spirit!

Winter wonderland
