Skype help for dummies (on a Mac)

Hey guys! Do I have anyone on my flist who uses Skype with a Mac?

I'm going to Germany next month and thought I'd give Skype a try to talk with my hubby back here in the States. I wanted to use my iPad for this, but after I downloaded the app, I found out that Skype does not support the iPad 3 with video chat (really? seriously??)

So my question is, can I use the internal camera on my Mac laptop to video chat with my hubby on our desktop system, or do I need to buy an external webcam? Which is turning out to be extremely difficult to even find one that works on a Mac. They're all for Windows only.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, since I have no idea what I'm doing!
