First Annual Pet Appreciation Day!
May. 2nd, 2012 05:15 amToday is Chloe's day in the 2012 Cat Fancy calendar. Nearly broke my heart to turn the page this morning, knowing what I was going to see. I never thought that she wouldn't be here with us on her special day.
But I don't want to be sad. I want to celebrate the joy and happiness that our furry friends bring to our lives. So I'm declaring today, May 2nd, to be the First Annual Pet Appreciation Day.
I know I've got a ton of animal lovers on my flist. So post your photos here of your cats, your dogs, your rabbits, your hamsters, your birds, your fish, your ferrets. Show off your "kids"! And not just the ones that own your heart now, but ones you've lost, too. Let's remember them as well.

And let's not forget where many of our pets came from - shelters. These amazing organizations are always in need of donations, so if you have a local shelter you'd like to leave a link to, please do so!

You all know Chloe on the left and Mandy on the right, and the other little one is Mac, who we lost 10 years ago. She was the smallest of the three, but man, she ruled the roost. :-)
