Greetings from Colorado!
Jun. 20th, 2010 09:22 pmHello, everyone! Internet is pretty non-existent up here in the mountains, so while I've got a connection I wanted to jump on and tell you what a great time John and I are having up here in the Rockies.
The ranch we're staying at is pretty nice. Our cabin is really small, though, and there's NO air conditioning. Thank god the temps won't get above 75 while we're here! And it's STRAIGHT UP the side of a hill. But the staff is great and the grounds are beautiful.
The altitude is taking it's toll on us, however. We were both sick on Friday, but Saturday was better. Today, though, we spent hiking 5 miles in the Rocky Mountain National Park and we found it very difficult to breathe.
Saturday we took a landscape drawing class, a horseback ride up an elevation of over 2,000 feet and went fishing. Didn't catch any fish but we still had fun! Then today we spent all day at the Park. The beauty is BREATHTAKING.
Tomorrow is tourist stuff in Estes Park, a different horseback ride and probably more fishing. Tuesday is my all-day whitewater rafting trip. The water is running HARD here, so it should be an amazing ride!
Okay, gotta run, but first here's some pics!
Save a horse, ride a cowboy! Me and my horse, Glen:
