BREAKING NEWS! 'My Bloody Valentine' Gets a New Release Date by Eric Walsingham Comments
Good morn’, my pumpkin children. Um, well it was a good morn’… until I called you all pumpkin children. Sorry about that. Anyways… since the day I first caught wind of My Blood Valentine 3D’s existence I’ve been ripping into its marketing people for not releasing it on Valentine’s Day. I mean, the movie is called My Bloody Valentine – so its entire existence relies on the holiday. On another note, why would you release it a matter of weeks before Valentine’s? Why not just release it on Valentine’s? Well, it seems that Bloody may have gotten a release change. That’s right, if you’ll take a look at Exhibit A (i.e. the film’s IMDb page) you’ll notice that
the U.S. release date has been changed to February 14th – a date most commonly known as St. Valentine’s Day. The film was originally skedded for a January 23rd release, but was moved to January 16th this past July. As you’ll notice on the new poster, there is no release date. So has My Blood Valentine finally been hit with a big heaping dose of logic, changing its release to Valentine’s? Can’t say for sure, but it looks like it could be so.
Ah, but what’s the hole in this theory? Well, February 14th is a Saturday this year. How, aside from the calendar in my cell phone, could I possibly know this? Because the date before is Friday the 13. Friday February 13th… Sound familiar? It may, because that’s the day that the FRIDAY THE 13TH REMAKE WILL BE RELEASED! And each film stars one of the TWO STARS OF SUPERNATURAL (Jared Padalecki in Friday, Jensen Ackles in Valentine)!!! This just keeps getting better and better.
So the question becomes – will My Bloody Valentine 3D open on a Saturday and, if it does, does that mean a horror movie/Supernatural brother gore-off?! Stay tuned while this situation develops.~~~~~
Oh, man, how cool will this be, with both Jensen and Jared's movies opening one day after another?? Like my friend
dairwendan said, I hope they both go to the other's premieres. :-)
