Morning, guys. I wasn't on LJ at all yesterday so I don't know if this was posted, but I came across this today:

The Annual Couch Awards - And the Golden Potato Goes To...

This entertainment writer went back through last season of television and gave out Couch Potato Awards and Supernatural got two!

Best cast chemistry:

“Supernatural” stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have such a good rapport that you’d think they were really brothers.

So yesterday was a spectacularly craptastic day...that turned into a spectacularly great night! LOL!

Work was just a nightmare yesterday. I was in a foul mood from the get-go and it continued for the next eight hours. I was so out of sorts I didn't even get on LJ yesterday.

About halfway through the day I got an email from Tom, the captain of our company softball team. I've been an avid softball player since I was a kid, and have played pretty regularly up until two years ago, when I quit the company team. I was tired of no one showing up to practice or to the actual game and we end up having to forfit. The team ended up disbanding and not playing at all last year. But then Tom got it started up again this year and asked if I'd play. Fearing a repeat of our other two teams, I declined, but he asked if I'd at least be an alternate and I agreed.

And last night I got called up. :-) One of the gals couldn't make it, so I filled in as catcher last night. Which is actually a position I like to play. I love being able to handle the ball, and being a catcher you get to do that. I mean, how many guys stand out in the outfield the entire game and never get the ball hit to them? Boring! And you're also the last line of defense against a run scoring. Love it!

So with the day I'd had, I was looking forward to smashing the ball and getting out my frustration. :-) I ended up taking a walk with the bases loaded, so I brought a run in for our team (yay!) and then later I had a single that also drove in a run. Woot!

But the best part was the last play of the game - the gal that was up to bat chipped it and it landed a little ways in front of the plate. I ran out, scooped up the ball and fired it over to first - OUT! WE WIN!

It ended up being a really awesome night that erased my horrible day, topped off by my hubby (who came to watch the game) taking me out to Dairy Queen for a celebratory ice cream sundae. Hee!

I'm kinda hoping they need me to fill in again this season! :-)
