Did y'all miss me? :-)

I was hoping to post yesterday, but ended up in a post-con sleep deprived coma for most of the day. *g*

So all in all, Media West was a rousing success, despite the con organizers still being clueless idiots, even after running this thing for the past 28 years. [sigh]

But it's the people I go to this con for, not so much for the events and panels anymore, and I had a BLAST hanging out with my "crew" from California and Canada and Indiana. There's just nothing better than hanging out with your friends for six days, some of whom, like [livejournal.com profile] khek, [livejournal.com profile] partners4life, [livejournal.com profile] mayphoenix, [livejournal.com profile] sylvia_bond, and so many others that I may only get to see once a year.

The con itself seemed very small to me this year, attendance wise, so I count myself very lucky that myself and my best buddy, [livejournal.com profile] charityflint, did so amazingly well selling our SPN-related merchandise. We came home with a lot of money in our pockets!

The great thing about being a room dealer is that you'll get a bunch of folks in there looking at the merchandise and someone will make a comment about SPN and the next thing you know, you've got a room full of people discussing. :-) It can sometimes be better than one of the formal panels at the con! I can't tell you how many people walked in and immediately started talking about the season finale, and Dean in particular. Folks seem equally divided on their opinions about him and I loved hearing everyone's reasons.

There weren't very many door decorations this year, either, but the ones that were there were brilliant! Especially [livejournal.com profile] khek's "What's really in the trunk of the Impala?" I laughed myself silly!

I swear I gained 10 lbs while I was up there, since eating out for breakfast, lunch AND dinner is a major social event. :-) It's always amusing to walk into a restaurant and tell the hostess that there's fourteen people in your party. Ha!

I re-connected with several old-time Sentinel folks, which was great, and even did a special order Sentinel pillowcase for one. :-)

So yeah, another Media West over and done, which saddens me. You look forward to this for an entire year, and then suddenly in the blink of an eye, six days have passed and you're saying good-bye. [sigh] I miss all of you already!!

So that was my week. I hope all of you had a good Memorial Day holiday, too!

Burnin' for You
by Jamie Lynn Miller

A chance meeting throws two firefighters together, and they give in to passion. Lucas is still mourning his lover's death, and he thinks his night with Evan is just stress relief. But when they find out they have to work closely in the fire station, they can't deny their true feelings.

First of all, firemen are hot (excuse the pun). Gay firemen? Even hotter. So I was looking forward to reading this one, and the author didn't disappoint. Hot sex, unwilling emotions, angst, adventure…Burning for You has it all. It's short, but long enough for plenty of action and back-story, and the men come to life. The writing is near perfect as well and I can't wait to read more from Jamie Lynn Miller.

Here's another set of DVR time shifted numbers from the TV by the Numbers site. These numbers are for Time is On My Side, which aired on May 9th.

For the week of May 5-11, NBC’s The Office once again tops all broadcast shows in audience % gain by time-shifting (DVR viewing). Its audience increased by 45.6% over the 5.879 million that watched it Live giving it a Live+7 audience of 8.561 million. That’s the largest audience increase by percentage that we’ve seen for any show since we began monitoring DVR viewing in September, 2007.

CW’s Gossip Girl was second with an increase of 41.1%. Rounding out the top 10 were One Tree Hill, Lost, Beauty and the Geek, America’s Top Model, Grey’s Anatomy, House and Bones.

The CW continues to be the “must DVR” network with 7 of the top 20 shows in our % increase list. We’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: Not many people watch the CW, but those that do love to use their DVRs!
