Gay novel rec
Dec. 5th, 2007 06:28 amI actually sat down and read something OTHER than fanfic this past weekend. Shocked, eh? Yeah, so was I. :-)
It's a gay romance novel called Razor Burn by Scott and Scott. They're a gay couple who have a line of books called Romentics. I was attracted to reading one of their books because they said they love happy endings. And not a lot of gay novels end up that way, you know?
I really enjoyed Razor Burn. Read the whole thing in just two sittings. Ben and Blayne were great characters, each experiencing their own turmoil over their attraction for one another, and how their pasts come into play in all of it as well.
There are quite a few sex scenes that were well done - nice build ups to them and they weren't wham-bam-done, either. This is a romance book and the sex scenes follow that, which I really liked.
The only thing I had to shake my head at was the big plot twist. As a reader it wasn't all that difficult to follow the clues the authors were leaving to where all of this was heading with Ben and Blayne. And sure enough, I was right. It's...far-fetched, to say the least. So just suspend your disbelief for a bit and concentrate on Ben and Blayne's relationship instead and I believe you'll enjoy the book as well. :-)
I thought the cover of the book was pretty damn sexy, so I thought I'd share...
( Razor Burn cover - not really work safe )
