Woke up to a nice article in the Chicago Sun-Times this morning called "Summer's Best Reruns" and Supernatural made the cut for Thursdays. :-)

The whole article is HERE but here is the relevant SPN parts:

So you're locked up in your home this summer, and somehow all you care about is TV. Your problem is there's nothing on but reruns. What's a TV-aholic to do?

Well, for starters, you can watch reruns of good shows you never watched. I know most of you haven't seen many of these shows, because their ratings suck.

So since I'm a TV enabler, I've put together my Summer Viewing List of Retreads and Rejects.
Just remember: Bad ratings don't mean a show stinks. They just mean you aren't watching.

THURSDAYS: "My Name Is Earl," "30 Rock" and "The Office" (7-9 p.m., WMAQ-Channel 5): The comedies don't mesh well thematically, but this is NBC's funniest lineup in a long time. "30 Rock" is the best show on TV right now. "Earl" had a sporadically funny season. And "The Office" is the future of TV comedy.

"Supernatural" (8 p.m., WGN-Channel 9): This is a fairly well-done horror show about two brothers who go ghost-hunting and such. The storytelling is always decent.

Not exactly a stellar description of SPN but hey, he could've been plugging CSI or Grey's instead, you know? Let's hope with this being in a major newspaper (both online and in print) it peaks the attention of some folks and we get some new viewers!

So Jared canceled yet another appearance, this time at the Much Music Awards show. This makes two conventions and an award show that he hasn't shown up at. Now I like Jared, I really do, but he seriously needs to stop saying he's going to be at events. I know the first two (Fangoria and Asylum) were during filming season, but the awards show? It was right now, during the summer! People are saying "he needs the rest before filming starts on S3" which hey, that's perfectly fine and understandable, but again WHY sign up for it then? He had to know he'd be kinda wiped out, using up part of his hiatus to film the Christmas Cottage movie.

There needs to be some seriously kick ass people from Smallville (like Tom and/or Mike and/or Justin) at the Creation con in November at this point for me to even consider buying a ticket now. I hate to say it, but there's no way I can rely on Jared being there, not after three cancelations, I'm sorry. I just can't keep throwing away $200. I'm not made of money.

Today's my 13th wedding anniversary! Yay! And despite what people who have met me in person think, yes, I am old enough to have been married that long. :-) Hubby's got a bit of a cold and hasn't been feeling too well for several days, so I don't know if we'll do the whole "dinner and a movie" thing tonight or not.

Over the weekend I OD'd on 10 episodes of the second season of The Hardy Boys, which I just got on DVD. :-) Yes, I'm not ashamed to admit that I dearly love Frank and Joe, and have since I was a child. Sean Cassidy was my first TV crush back when the show was on and I was just a kid.

Now I didn't see it so much in first season, but in second season Frank and Joe were awfully touchy-feely with one another! Always standing so damn close to each other I thought they'd kiss at certain points. ;-) It made me think back to a Frank/Joe slash story I wrote back in 2005. No wonder I was primed for Sam/Dean wincest fic! LOL! What can I say? I've obviously got this thing for brothers!

I'm very excited that [livejournal.com profile] winchestmidwest is this Friday! Anyone here on my f-list going to be there? I'm hoping to see some faces from [livejournal.com profile] spn_chicago there!

Been watching the SPN reruns this summer and I forced myself to watch No Exit last night. Strange, since on the SPN Friday Five I listed it as my least favorite episode.

I haven't watched No Exit since it first aired, so I'd forgotten about some of the funny moments between Sam and Dean, like the Stay Puff Marshmallow man comment and the way Dean is sleeping like Marty McFly. :-)

But alas, the rest of the episode is still as bad as it was the first time around. Though I do wonder if we'll ever hear the real story of what happened with Jo's father and John.

Spent most of Saturday rearranging my massive Star Wars collection, since my dear husband unpacked most of the boxes and just kinda randomly threw stuff in the bookcases. It's been bugging me for a month now so I finally set aside most of the day and put things in some semblance of order. :-)

I didn't have a chance to get to my comic book store before I left for Texas, so I just now got the second issue of Supernatural: Origins

And I'm sorry to say that I thought it sucked )

And yep, that was pretty much my weekend. How was yours?
