Re: "What Is/Never Be"

Raelle took one of the biggest literary oops--hey, it was all just a dream!--and penned a wallop of an episode

Yeah, I mean how many times has something like this been done? But never have I been so affected by an episode like that. Between Raelle writing it and Eric directing it - a winning combination for sure.

Jensen acted with force and pain and passion(and I SO envy you ladies who are gonna get a taste of that in person!).

Jensen was freaking amazing in this episode. BUABS was Jared's moment to shine and WIAWSNB was Jensen's turn. Damn, both of these boys are fantastic actors.

Remember how in "Salvation" John said, 'I want you (Sam) to go to school, I want Dean to have a home. I want Mary alive'? I guess you really should be careful what you wish for...

Yes! Again with the continuity!

Dean interrogates his mother as tough, badass Dean

As I would expect him to, since he was so disbelieving as to what was going on.

but when she gives the right answer he just crumbles. He glows. He's radiant with joy, being able to talk with and touch Mary again

You should've seen me, yelling out the answer right before Mary did. :-) And Dean, like you said, it's like he sags with relief, that yes, Mary really is in front of him.

and to see all those new family pictures(I'm still sorry that JDM wasn't in the ep, but his presence was definitely there)

All of those pictures were fantastic! A great way to show snippets of their lives and to bring JDM into the show.

The lawnmowing scene and his squeezing Jess were hilarious. He's just so damn happy living a normal life with the weight of hunting off his shoulders that you want it to be real for him.

I think I hurt something laughing at that and the sandwich eating. :-) Nice to see a couple of light moments in an otherwise heartwrenching episode.

It was clever to replay part of the pilot, even right down to Jess shifting in bed, tho Sam shows off a deliciously bigger bicep than he had in Season 1!)

Oh, that was freaking brilliant! Kudos to Raelle for writing it that way.

He is torn in two, and I think he believed he could heal the split between him and Sam. That is Dean's biggest strength and his worst weakness

Wow, yeah, you really hit the nail on the head. He's so heartbroken that he and Sam are miles apart and he's determined to fix that, no matter what.

Bring on the season (SEASON, Kripke, SEASON)finale!!

That's right! SEASON finale! :-)
