My close encounter with wildlife
Well, my morning got off to an interesting start! I start work early (6:45am) and I'm the first one in the office. So there are no other cars in the lot where my office is located, which is on the opposite side of the building from everyone else. In other words, it's kinda lonely down at this end.
Anyway, we've got this flock of Canadian geese hanging around our end of the parking lot. One of them has made a nest there and we all see her out there every day. Well, when I pull into the parking lot this morning, the geese are in an uproar for some reason. Squawking and honking and a couple of them flew away to land on the building next to mine. I'm like, "what's with these guys this morning?" as I start to swing into my parking space.
And then I freeze. From around the back corner of my building comes a coyote, trotting as big as you please, like he owned the place. My mouth just hung open as he ignored the geese and trotted right past my car. All I could do was watch as this fairly large animal made his way across the whole parking lot and into the forest preserve which borders us on two sides.
This is actually the second time I've seen a coyote in our parking lot, but the first time it was a long ways off, not up close and personal! I kept thinking that if I'd have been about 45 seconds earlier, I'd have been caught between my car and the door to the building when it came around the corner. Yikes! Thanks heavens for some traffic getting in this morning. :-)
So yeah, there's my exciting wildlife encounter! LOL!

It's been 30 years, and I still miss the coyotes that used to come sing under my bedroom window every night when I was a kid. I'd curl up on the end of my bed and wait for them. When we moved to San Antonio when I was 8, I didn't sleep for the first week we were there, because I wasn't used to the sounds of a city all night long, and there were no coyotes to sing me to sleep.
(Guess it's kind of obvious where I got my name, huh?)

Psst. You remember Fangoria Remix (http://spikess.livejournal.com/187880.html)? I'm working on the sequel, and I've got a guest spot reserved for you in the fic if you want it ^_~ All I need is to know how you want to be described.

Wildlife . . . and CW's summer schedule
Sounds like good practice for what I believe is going to be an even bigger wildlife enounter - all you lucky ladies when you get a look at the living, breathing Jensen . . . in uniform! I am officially jealous and will once again, Barb, be living vicariously through you! I'm counting on you to give Jensen a hug for me!
Seriously, what is it with you and JoAnn and wild animals - first she is out driving near her home and sees a zebra standing in the front yard of a house on her route, and now you see a coyote at your workplace!
Some news: Futoncritic posted/updated a summer schedule for the networks today and SPN is going to be run in its normal time slot and at 9:00 on Sundays! I'm hoping this will not only bring in new fans but maybe, if it does well there, maybe it could be a new time slot for it next year . . . even though it would be up against football for part of the year, I still think it would be a better timeslot than Thursdays at 9:00. You can see the schedule here: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide.aspx?id=summer_2007
Lastly, I was at the imdb to check on Jared's movie (I wanted to see if they had information about when filming was scheduled to end to see if Jared might have time to travel to Texas to see a play in June . . . .). Anyway, I noticed that another actor appearing in his movie is Gina Holden, who played Haley Collins in Wendigo.
