A question about SPN episode 20

agt_spookyI was reading over at supernatural_tv where people are talking about how Jess is going to be in this episode and how she and Sam are engaged. People are all like "well that's the end of the Sam/Sarah dream!". Ummm, did I miss something or read too fast? People, if Sam and Dean never became hunters, Sam and Sarah would never have even met! That's WHY he's still with Jess! This is an ALTERNATE REALITY.
Seriously, am I misunderstanding what these guys are saying? Or are these people not understanding the concept of the episode?
