The state of Spooky

Hi all!
Didn’t mean to disappear there for so long, but it wasn’t a very good Christmas, birthday and New Year’s for me.
John and I both got sick Christmas Eve with really bad colds. So there was no Christmas for us, nor was there a birthday for me. We attempted to go to Medieval Times (since the tickets are non-refundable) just as a freaking blizzard started outside and then my freaking car died in the middle of the driveway! ARGH! Needless to say, that ended everything.
So I spent 9 out of 10 days of my holiday vacation sick and never left the house. Technically I'm still sick (coughing, sneezing) but at least the mental fog and lethargy are gone, which is good because I had no choice but to go back to work today. We’ll see if I last the entire day or end up going home.
Medieval Times would not give me a refund for my birthday but they would let me reschedule, so I picked a random date in March. Hopefully by then there will be no blizzard, I won't be sick and my car will run.
Speaking of the Jeep, thankfully it only needed a new battery and not a major repair. Still, that was $$ I was not planning on spending.
I've barely been on the computer in the last 10 days, so I missed out on all of your lives during the holidays. I can only hope they were a hell of a lot better than mine! Since I ended 2017 on such a crappy note that only means that 2018 will be great, right? Right?? LOL!
Oh, the one bright spot was that one of my favorite actors, Philip Winchester (from Strike Back and Chicago Justice) wished me a Happy Birthday on Twitter! I nearly fainted and I'm still smiling over it. :-)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
