As for my thoughts? I can sum it up in two words: LOVED IT!
Supernatural Episode Recap: "Point of No Return"

The 100th episode of Supernatural features Dean at rock bottom. I thought he had gotten there well before now, but I was wrong. Does Dean at rock bottom include giving into his destiny? Meanwhile, Sam's job is to do whatever he can to prevent that from happening including leaning on Cas. The rebel angel goes all badass on us more than once and he makes a great big sacrifice. Plus, Adam becomes the third Winchester sibling to die and come back to life. Resurrection is a good family trait to share, isn't it?
Recap
This is the only portion of the episode that disappointed me. It is a straight up recap when it should have been one of the classic rock recaps we've come to know and love. I'm sure it all came down to budget, but I still had high hopes for a "Carry On Wayward Son" comeback or a different kickass old school ditty to rock the beginning of the episode. Have you guys seen the recent YouTube video that features the 99 episodes in just over one minute? So awesome. I just wish The Powers That Be (TPTB) would have done something similar. But hey, if this is my only disappointment than you guys have to know "Point of No Return" is a killer Supernatural in just about every way.
Cold Open
The first scene with an "unemployed" Zachariah sitting at the bar chatting with the guy that had also recently been outsourced out of a job is simply hilarious. But before poor, doomed Stuart could contemplate a proper career change (the internet?), Zach's "Suite Life" continues thanks to the "boss" giving him a second chance.
1st Act
Break my heart Moment #1: OK right off the bat a heavily drinking Dean is packing up his favorite leather jacket — the one he got from Big Daddy Winchester — as well as the keys from his trusty Impala, one of his guns and a letter (to Sam maybe?). He's sending them to Bobby because he's no longer going to need them, at least in his mind. Sam shows up and I am so excited by this. He used his considerable Winchester skill to find Dean. He even guesses Dean made a pit stop at Lisa's house. Wonder what that means? Sam doesn't appreciate Dean giving up while Dean reminds Sam about all the times he ran away from the family and from him:
"All you've ever done is run away."
"And I was wrong, every single time I did."
I love that Sam's trying to talk Dean out of making possibly the biggest mistake of his life. When Dean doesn't budge, Cas pops in, takes matters in his own hands and transports Dean to Bobby's. Dean's acting beyond belligerent and Bobby's not having it. He has to gruffly remind Dean how even though he's been having suicidal tendencies since getting stuck in a wheelchair he's not doing anything about it because he promised him.
Badass Cas sighting #1: Cas heads to a woodsy area where he's forced to battle angels. He wins and as a bonus he finds Adam, the third Winchester brother we met in last season's "Jump the Shark," trying to climb out of his grave. He takes Adam back to Bobby's place.
2nd Act
Not surprisingly, Adam's sarcastic much like Dean and resentful of John much like Sam. Adam already knows who they are because the angels warned him about them. He's supposed to meet up with his "savior" Zachariah only Sam and Dean aren't going to let that happen anytime soon. Adam tells them he's going to help save the world by being Michael's vessel. Apparently the angels have moved on from Dean. Sam tries to talk Adam into staying with them and plays the "we're blood" card. Unfortunately that doesn't work. Adam doesn't consider BDW his dad just because they went to one baseball game a year. It's funny how things sound when you hear a different perspective. I remember Dean being jealous because John actually went to a game with his other son. Adam wants to say "yes" to Michael so he can see his mom again.
Role Reversal complete: Dean's locked in the panic room so he won't go and become Michael's vessel. Rewind to last year when Sam was hopped up on demon blood and Dean locked him in so Sam could kick the habit. Now it's Dean's turn to be imprisoned. The oldest Winchester is not about to let Adam take a bullet meant for him so he's still dead set on saying yes. He says he's tired of fighting who he's supposed to be. This has me frustrated because how many times did he implore Sam not to give in to his supposed "destiny?" To hear him just want to give into it even after all he's been through is just so very sad.
Break my heart Moment #2: It's a well known fact Dean isn't always a nice guy. He pisses people off and can say some very off color things. But what he says to Sammy is just plain painful to hear:
"I just don't believe."
"In what?"
"In you. I mean I don't...I don't know whether it's going to be demon blood or some other demon chick or what but I do know they're going to find a way to turn you."
"So you're saying I'm not strong enough?"
"You're angry. You're self righteous. Lucifer's gonna wear to you to the prom man it's just a matter of time."
Some of what Dean said is true. Sorry Sam fans, the youngest Winchester can be self-righteous especially during his demon-blood phase. Back in "The End," Dean sees the future and he meets Lucifer! And we all know what happened with Ruby. While at the beginning of Season 5 I didn't really feel Sam's apologies rang true. I know he's been working at his redemption and I know he's doing the best he can to make sure that doomed future isn't his. It's heartbreaking to see Sam have to hear this from his brother, the guy who has been the one person to believe in him without question his entire life. Remember when Dean defended Sam to Gordon in Season 2's "Hunted?" That's the Dean that believed in his little bro. Jensen and Jared beautifully acted out this intense scene, didn't they? Jared looked appropriately devastated and Jensen really rocked the exhausted and over it demeanor. It's been five seasons and the chemistry between these two has never waned.
A desperate Dean cleverly outmaneuvers Cas and escapes from Bobby's panic room. I hate seeing Dean resort to the angel banishing sigil to get out of his brother's clutches. So cold, Dean.
3rd Act
After Dean escapes, Adam also escapes courtesy of a Zachariah-related dream that clues the angel as to his location.
Badass Cas sighting #2: Cas quickly catches up with Dean and the angel proceeds to bruise and batter his "friend." Cas has no faith left in Dean and kind of makes it about himself at the same time. My deal with Cas is that it always seems he's looking for someone to follow be it God or Dean. Maybe he needs to start having faith in himself but that's a story for another day. It's a pretty brutal beating but maybe Dean can use this as a wakeup call of sorts? Dean actually begs Cas to continue the beat-down. Dean's in such a bad way.
Meanwhile Zachariah has taken Adam to the "heavenly" green room Dean was introduced to in last season's "Lucifer Rising" complete with beer and cheeseburgers. Adam quickly finds out old Zach's lying to him; he's just bait to get Dean. Zachariah is downright evil I don't care what his motives are.
As for Dean, the role reversal continues when the episode cuts to him back in the panic room this time handcuffed to the bed. But Sam doesn't keep him there for long. He lets Dean out of the cuffs because he still believes in his big bro. He needs Dean to help get Adam out of the green room. Dean will go but he gives fair warning that he will say yes to Michael. Sam is pretty sure he won't.
"I don't get it, Sam. Why are you doing this?" "Because, you're still my big brother."
I'm so proud of Sam at this moment, I really am.
4th Act
So the angel green room is located, strangely enough, in an abandoned muffler warehouse in Van Nuys, Calif
Badass Cas sighting #3: Cas decides to take on five angels in order to help Sam and Dean get into the beautiful room. Before he does this he lets Dean know once more that he has no faith in him and doesn't want to stick around to see him fail. But he proceeds to take out one angel and then sacrifices himself with that angel banishing sigil thingy he's carved into his chest (yes, we see a wee bit of shirtless Cas!) that sends those thug angels far, far away but Cas also disappears too. Where is he?
Cut to Dean who heads into the beautiful room to find Adam collapsed on the floor. Adam can't believe Dean came for him. Zac shows up and immediately Sam tries a sneak attack that doesn't work. Zac soon has both Sam and Adam coughing up blood forcing Dean to finally make a decision:
"OK, yes. The answer is yes."
"Dean!"
"Do you hear me? Call Michael down you bastard!"
"How do I know you're not lying?"
"Do I look like I'm lying?"
This is my favorite part of "Point of No Return." Zachariah is chanting away, calling for Michael and Dean looks at Sam who's bloodied and in serious pain; and you see something switch in Dean's eyes. Zac announces Michael's coming and Dean gives this smile and then winks at Sam and you know that right then and there Dean is back. Dean then gives the surly angel some conditions on accepting Michael. He has some people that need to be kept safe; and he also wants Michael to dispose of Zach. Zach makes a big mistake and gets close enough to Dean. The faithless Winchester takes the opportunity to off Zachariah. I'm of course awesomely happy and supremely sad at the same time. After all I have thoroughly enjoyed Kurt Fuller's time on Supernatural. He's done an amazing job. But in the scope of the show, this is a great moment because Dean finds a way to sidestep Michael. Here's the thing, Sam and Dean get out of the beautiful room but Adam doesn't. I believe Michael definitely showed up. Did Michael take Adam on as his vessel in the end? Maybe this is a way for Michael to get around in human form. Adam could be Michael's meat suit for the time being until Dean says yes once again.
Act 5
Sam and Dean are driving when Sam makes an observation: "I saw your eyes. You were totally rocking the 'yes' back there. So what changed your mind?"
And Dean again shows he's all about family: "Honestly? The damnedest thing. I mean the world's ending; the walls are coming down on us; I look over at you and all I can think about is this stupid son of a bitch brought me here. I just didn't want to let you down."
"You didn't. You almost did, but you didn't."
Dean said something else that ended the episode just right: "If you're grown up enough to find faith in me least I could do is return the favor. So screw destiny right in the face. I say we take the fight to them and do it our way."
"Sounds good."
Dean has got his groove back! I keep thinking about the road the two brothers have taken to get to this moment. In Season 4, Sam's demon blood high was a real low point for him and this season has been all about redemption for him. He still has a battle ahead of him in denying Lucifer but he's really grown up. And Dean, it's taken him a while to achieve his own low point, even with a 40-year trip to hell. Every time I think he hit rock bottom he found a way to go even lower but at least before he remained Dean. He had his attitude and his faith in his little brother and while yes his lack of self worth has been so sad he has always had fight. So to see him with no fight and no faith was just heartbreaking. But now Dean's ready for what's ahead. I don't know about you but this 100th episode felt downright finale-worthy and guess what? There are still four episodes left in the season. And I'm excited by how TPTB are going to top the last three episodes in particular. How are they going to get Cas back? When will they encounter Adam again? Will they encounter Adam again? Plus, Sam and Dean still have to deal with Lucifer. Jeremy Carver wrote this episode. I'm not sure if he's going to be back next season since he does have another project he's working on but if he does leave, I'll definitely miss his presence. I think everybody brought their A-game to "Point of No Return."

"They're not down on the ground in the mud nose to nose with all you pig-filthy humans, am I right."
"Absolutely. Filthy what?"
"Earthquake?"
"Nah, my boss."
"So Michael's not about to make you his muppet?"
"You can't give up, son."

"Hmmm...not good."
"I'll tell you one thing, attitude like that, you'd fit right in around here."
"Ah Cas not for nothing but the last person who looked at me like that I got laid." (This came complete with a Dean wink)
"We've got our hands full Dean; a house full of flight risks."
"Do you think you can maybe take a half second and stop trying to sacrifice yourself for a change?"
"You know Sam and Dean Winchester are psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent on each other, right?"
"They rather save each other's sweet bacon than save the planet."
"I'm Dean Winchester do you know who I am?"
"Dear God."
"I'll take that as a yes."
"If it's any consolation you happen to be the illegitimate half brother of the guy we do care about, that's not bad is it?"
"Word to the wise, don't piss off the nerd angels."

Five Seasons, 100 Episodes
I feel like I need to say a few words to mark this milestone. I can't believe this is the 100th episode. I started blogging during Season 1 with episode 11 ("Scarecrow"). Supernatural really was "the little show that could." It had to go through everything: a change of network; last minute renewals, a writers strike and a switch to the toughest timeslot on TV before really hitting its stride in Season 4. It's funny because usually with shows I lose interest after a while especially after blogging every episode, but that's not the case with this one. I continue to enjoy the experience and talking to the fans and because I work at TV Guide Network I even on occasion get to interview some of the show's actors and behind-the-scenes crew. It's always been a show that flies under the radar and I kind of like that. Supernatural is just plain special and it happens to be my favorite TV series of all time. I want to thank Eric Kripke and the entire Supernatural crew for keeping us entertained over the years.

I'm totally slammed here at the office this morning, so I'll have to let Tina's words speak for me and not get into depth myself today.
Suffice it to say, I loved, loved, LOVED this episode. Jensen, Jared and Misha all rocked this episode.
And for the first time this season I actually LOVED Sam. I finally believe in him, in his redemption, his change. There was nothing wrong he said last night. He was simply amazing in this episode. When he talked about Dean being his big brother it brought tears to my eyes.
And Dean? Good lord, Jensen, you simply get better with each episode. I felt Dean's pain and desolation so sharply. I wanted to cry when he was packing up his jacket, gun and keys. I wonder what was in that letter.
And Cas? I forgive you for beating up Dean. He did kinda deserve it for tricking you and banishing you and you needed to take drastic measures to stop Dean. And we also saw you shirtless, so that's a plus. *g* But where they heck did he go??
I was watching with charityflint and we literally screamed and cheered when Dean killed Zach. The image reflected in Dean's eyes and then the image of Zach's burnt wings was so freakin' cool. But I will miss Kurt Fuller. He was awesome. :-)
Kudos to Jeremy Carver for writing an episode worthy of Number 100. I've always enjoyed Jeremy's episodes and this was no exception.
I'm glad that this ep left off on a positive note, with the boys back on the same side, ready to take the battle to the angels and the devil. I have a feeling these remaining eps this season is going to be one long roller coaster ride. :-)

Five Seasons, 100 Episodes
I feel like I need to say a few words to mark this milestone. I can't believe this is the 100th episode. I started blogging during Season 1 with episode 11 ("Scarecrow"). Supernatural really was "the little show that could." It had to go through everything: a change of network; last minute renewals, a writers strike and a switch to the toughest timeslot on TV before really hitting its stride in Season 4. It's funny because usually with shows I lose interest after a while especially after blogging every episode, but that's not the case with this one. I continue to enjoy the experience and talking to the fans and because I work at TV Guide Network I even on occasion get to interview some of the show's actors and behind-the-scenes crew. It's always been a show that flies under the radar and I kind of like that. Supernatural is just plain special and it happens to be my favorite TV series of all time. I want to thank Eric Kripke and the entire Supernatural crew for keeping us entertained over the years.

I'm totally slammed here at the office this morning, so I'll have to let Tina's words speak for me and not get into depth myself today.
Suffice it to say, I loved, loved, LOVED this episode. Jensen, Jared and Misha all rocked this episode.
And for the first time this season I actually LOVED Sam. I finally believe in him, in his redemption, his change. There was nothing wrong he said last night. He was simply amazing in this episode. When he talked about Dean being his big brother it brought tears to my eyes.
And Dean? Good lord, Jensen, you simply get better with each episode. I felt Dean's pain and desolation so sharply. I wanted to cry when he was packing up his jacket, gun and keys. I wonder what was in that letter.
And Cas? I forgive you for beating up Dean. He did kinda deserve it for tricking you and banishing you and you needed to take drastic measures to stop Dean. And we also saw you shirtless, so that's a plus. *g* But where they heck did he go??
I was watching with charityflint and we literally screamed and cheered when Dean killed Zach. The image reflected in Dean's eyes and then the image of Zach's burnt wings was so freakin' cool. But I will miss Kurt Fuller. He was awesome. :-)
Kudos to Jeremy Carver for writing an episode worthy of Number 100. I've always enjoyed Jeremy's episodes and this was no exception.
I'm glad that this ep left off on a positive note, with the boys back on the same side, ready to take the battle to the angels and the devil. I have a feeling these remaining eps this season is going to be one long roller coaster ride. :-)

During commercials I was giving Veronica a recap of Seasons 1-4..
The writing was superb.. Dean and Sam dialog was particularly poignant. Dean telling Sam he just doesn't trust him,took my breath away..
The one liners were great
Between "Ah Cas not for nothing but the last person who looked at me like that I got laid." (This came complete with a Dean wink) and
"You know Sam and Dean Winchester are psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent on each other, right?"-- all I could think was the fan girls are gonna have a field day- plot bunnies multiplying exponentially.

Well, don't make me the head of a TV network, because here we are! SPN has beaten the Timeslot From Hell, limited ads, its own third season(Rubela, sigh), and Dawn Ostroff to stand tall at its 100th ep! Thank you, Jared, Jensen, Misha, Eric, everybody, for bringing us the best show for (gasp)five years! And thank you, thank you, Jeremy, for writing a script that wrung me dry. I screamed, I cried, I cheered, I even "WTF?" a couple of times. Kudos to you and Jensen for having the guts to show Dean at the bottom, at the darkest he has ever been. I can't understand the Dean hate that's been going around, other than some fans might prefer that Dean just be a snarky ladies' man. But Dean has always been damaged, and to see him packing away that leather jacket and gun choked me up; it was as if he was scouring away his own identity, paving the way for Michael. Jared was MAGNIFICENT. While Dean's faith in him had withered, Sam's faith in Dean never changed(note to Dean: Sam did not 'run away' when he left for Stanford. He WENT TO COLLEGE. HE WANTED A LIFE. Maybe that will always stick in Dean's craw as desertion, but I think that is more of Dean's four-year-old self talking, not Dean as an adult. Misha was, of course, his usual incredible self. I've been panting for more angel 'swordplay': we got that and more, since Cas has lost his faith as well. Seeing him beat Dean was excruciating on so many levels, especially since he seemed to spare Dean only because Sam still believed in him. But oh my, was Cas a BAMF or what?? (Aaand we got a glimpse of angel food cake--yummy!)
And Adam's back! I admit, I didn't really enjoy watching "Jump the Shark" because I was really apprehensive about another Winchester brother. But the twist that the boys hadn't really met their half-brother sold it for me, along with Jake's performance. He was really good in "PNR", and I hope he'll be back.
I wish Kurt Fuller could be! The best villains are the ones you'll miss; I just loved Zachariah, and I loved hating him. If Kurt ever appeared at a con, I know he'd get a standing ovation from the fans for his fabulous work. Bravo, Mr. Fuller!
And the ep ended the way I always wish they did...with our bros in Lady M, together and on the same page, driving to what's next. Can't wait.
Oh, and 'blow me, Cas'? And 'erotically co-dependent'? YESSSSSSSS....

That thinking will never change for Dean. Sam left his family, no matter what the reason and Dean felt betrayed and abandoned. If he's still feeling that way almost 10 years later, he'll always feel that way.

I honestly believe that Dean thinks Ben is his son (and I have to agree) and that's the reason he feels a connection to Lisa. If there was no child Dean wouldn't be feeling like this. Heck, he had way more of a connection to Cassie than Lisa!

He was actually at his first con in L.A.! Zach was awesome. I know Kurt was disappointed to find out that he was going to be playing another bad guy, but he was fantastic! You loved to hate him. :-)

How awesome is the actor that is Jensen? Jared hit it out of the park too, and Misha... I love that he can gank an angel and look simultaneously determined and regretful that he has to kill his brethren. Castiel has been taking Badass lessons for sure.

Zach is gone(although I really liked Fuller as the villain),
Cas had some pretty good action going on and the brothers believe in each other again. That ep really was a fangirls dream. Just wished that Sam would have given Dean the amulet back in the final scene,but I'll take that in a later episode as well :o)
Once again,Jensen blew me away with his acting skills.
Wow,this man can totally nail a desperate and broken Dean,that's for sure!
Jared,Misha,Jim - they all rocked that episode and I just wish we could have them around for another 100 more!
